Your thread title, while interesting and true, doesn't help us know what the subject is about.
A title containing the words: "Neutral Density filter" would help.
You can change the topic title for up to an hour after posting, I believe- look above your name near your avatar.

Reminds me of an ESPN commercial from years ago. "There's no such thing as a dum question... just dumb people asking questions." Big grin!
What if you get similar stuff on the Eva... same remedy?

Since I got mine haven't touched my d700 and in fact if this continues for the rest of the year am selling the nikon.
Looking forward to the new model with the hope that it will do better with high action sports ( which isn't a strong point with this model)
My grandson's soccer is pretty much the only reason I'm hanging on to my Nikon D7000. Otherwise, I use my OMD almost exclusively. Haven't convinced the members of my camera club to consider it yet, but they seem to be fairly impressed with the results. And it goes everywhere with me in my briefcase.
Was driving to the office one day and the local Party City was on fire... just blazing... a half block from our local camera store. Not a soul was taking pictures, not even the guy who sold me my Nikon, and he was just a few yards away. Decided then and there to get a camera I could carry with me. Did the research and got the Oly. Now, next time Party City goes blazing, I'm ready!

I used the Panasonic 7-14mm lens set at 7mm (equivalent to 14mm on 35mm system)
I just love that lens. Any purple fringing shows up in live view but unless you are shooting direct into really bright light it isn't a problem.
Got the lens for a bargain price so makes it all the sweeter!
I figured it was that lens or the 20. And you are right... A bargain makes it feel that much better.

Thanks rhyde, I will be up in Scotland soon after the 19th of this month. It's an 11 hour drive from my home, you could almost do it in less time coming from the US :-)

Given the price of UK petrol, you're probably right!
Cheers.
Visited to Pilanesberg in April. Did not see one rhino. You were fortunate!
Oh, to be in Scotland! Nice shot.
RJM, nice work. Love the OMD. Which lens did you use?

I love that b&h closes over the weekend. It gives me time to relax and re-think. Of course sunday night that 8+ may be mine.
You can go ahead and order. It will be waiting for them when they return from the Sabbath.

if one of the rumours is right...buying Olympus might be buying from Sony. Sony is one of the companies considering buy Olympus out.
BTW Olympus make 75% of their products for the medical market
Which may very well keep the rest of the company afloat. Here's hoping. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my OMD!

that store was right about Olympus. It one of the companies WALL street says it may not be around in 2014
They sure don't act like it.
I've told my story before, but it fits this thread and I think bears repeating. Early last year, I decided to purchase a small non P&S camera to complement my D7000, something I could carry every day in my briefcase. Had pretty much, through online research, decided on the Oly EP3. Went to our local camera shop to see what they had and the manager, citing the recent financial fraud at Olympus, told me the company would go bankrupt because of it. Try the Sony NEX7, he said. I looked at it, but didn't like the location of the viewfinder, or the price. It then dawned on me that he was pushing Sony because that's what his store supplied, along with, of course, Nikon and Canon. So, I purchased an Oly OMD E-M5, which, ironically, cost about the same as the Sony. Couldn't be happier, and now I use it almost exclusively, especially when traveling. The Nikon is better for sports, but in just about every other application, the OMD is a winner.

yes, you can NORMALLY do it on your Olympus camera but I cocked up and wiped the firmware off the Panny lens!
Now my Olympus camera and update software won't recognise the lens.
Looks like I need a Panny Camera to sort it out!
They're both good systems. I've always had Panny cameras up until my OM-D which I'm more than pleased with.
Don't know why I didn't think to ask this already... Are you familiar with the mu43 forum? If not, join up and ask about your issue. My guess is you will get a good answer.
