i want that d800 so bad i can taste it. I am trying to trade a couple of things I don't use to help me with the cost.
B&H had a refurbished one that was good, as I have no problem with refurbished but it is gone now. Now they have a couple used. rated 8+ and 9+ The 8+ is a good price for me but I just don't feel like going down to an 8. The 9+, you might as well buy new.
Thought I would ask for everyones thoughts and keep my mind busy and keep my hand off my wallet. :-)

? do you always buy a brand new car when you replace the old one.
8 + or a 9 + don't sound like to bad of a deal really, but its you money n your decision so go for what you wanna do.

I love that b&h closes over the weekend. It gives me time to relax and re-think. Of course sunday night that 8+ may be mine.

You are going to so love that camera, but you will have to get some good glass to go with it.

I know. The best lens I have right now is a af-s 300mm 1:4 So yes good glass will be the next thing on my list. May have to sell the car for that one.

Anymore opinions on buying a quality of 8+ ?????? please. Would any of you be worried about it?

I was thinking of that Stones line: "You can't always get what you want..." But that's my problem!

My only experience buying used is with KEH-- and I feel like they are liberal with their condition rating-- perhaps to avoid returns?

Good luck. I'd like to go FF myself-- but I'm more likely to hold out for the mythical D400.

compare cost new, cost 8or 9 + cost, factory refurbished ( better then new as its been gone over by a tech not down the line add in price savings to buy some good factory refubished glass hence you get the best of 2 worlds for the price of 1 ( I buy factory refubished DeWalt power tools ) and most like next lens will be a refurbished

There are no factory refurbished out there so I will have to wait. I am not good at waiting. But refurbished is what I originally wanted to get. I looked as some refurbished 400 lenses and wow...still out of my price range. I am thinking this 300 is pretty good and I can get the nikon teleconverter to go with it. The 17 converter won't work with that lens and my d7000. Just another reason to go d800!!!

Here's what I told my kids growing up:

"I don't have the time to learn patience"
