I know of no proprietary software that dosn't do Layers, however, a free trial will confirm.

ACDSee has several levels of software that does NOT use layers. Only their top pro version uses layers.

I have done several books with Shutterfly with great results, and I am a perfectionist, so they are my first go-to.

I do shoot in RAW + JPEG, but sometimes I need the photo immediately, and because of THAT I do shoot with Vivid turned on. Often, my photo are a bit “flat” coming right out of the camera.

RAW images always appear "flat" and need to be color enhanced PP when converting to JPEG if your PP program does not do that automatically or enough so you like the result.

Attached are photos from my visits to Monument Valley in 2015 and one from Acadia from 2016.

One MV photo is taken at sunset....twice a year, March and September, the West Mitten Butte casts its shadow upon the East Mitten Butte..this was on September 12, 2015.

Another MV photo was taken after sunrise on a photo tour.

The Acadia photo is of Jordan Pond.

I have visited all the parks you mentioned, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Glacier, and Crater Lake. I enjoyed them all.

I enjoyed visiting Monument Valley and Acadia and have good memories of the visits.

By the way, in searching for your excellent photos on this site, I found your response to someone trying to decide between Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly. You advised “Canyon de Chelly is more interesting and more photogenic.” I have also visited Canyon de Chelly. I was not disappointed.

To further add to what I said previously, here's one of my sunrise shots in Monument Valley.

I didn't start anything -- that's exactly what you said!

d2b2 is NOT kidding! We went to Italy in November for the first time. I was looking forward to photographing sights such as the Trevi Fountain. The whole city is a zoo; hundreds of tourists blocking every angle. The only way I could get a halfway decent shot was to spend hours in Photoshop taking out as many people as I could and/or cropping.

I, too, get frustrated with crowds around someplace I want to photograph, but what makes someone with a selfie stick any more of an "idiot" than you or anyone else who want to take pictures of a popular tourist site, and why do you think you have any more right to photograph something than anyone else? You think you have the right to tell everyone else to get out of your way? Besides, if you object to crowds, you need to think outside the box and make the crowd part of the scene, or if you don't like to do that, do what pro media photographers do and use a monopod to elevate your camera above the crowds. BTW, your attempt to remove the crowd in photoshop makes you photo look worse than your photo that includes the crowd. And, if you want to avoid crowds, go out to nearby surrounding small villages -- there are usually many more photo opps in the villages than in large cities where the crowds are, and you will also get a better photographic flavor of what the country you are visiting is really like. I lived in Europe for 4 years and my best and most memorable photos are not from the cities, but from the small villages.

That's why I tell random people (that I don't want near me) that the best time to photograph "My Beaches" is 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Sunrise and sunsets are for suckers

So, in your opinion all prize-winning and pro landscape/seascape photogs who shoot at sunrise or sunset are "suckers"? Maybe you need to find a different hobby.

Most likely everyone has looked forward to visiting famous locations.....and afterwards felt that the photo ops were disappointing or overrated.

For me, Acadia National Park and Monument Valley come to mind. These two are extremely popular and favorites for many. I can’t say I didn’t find good photo ops, just that, overall, they were less than I expected.

I realize the above may be a reflection of a personal shortcoming on my part.

Are there famous locations that you found overrated or disappointing photographically?
Most likely everyone has looked forward to visitin... (show quote)

Anyone who says that Monument Valley is disappointing obviously was not there at sunrise or sunset, or any other time of day and does not have the talent to recognize photo opps when they see them -- look at any issues of Arizona Highways or any other photo magazines as well as any of Ansel Adams' work. I'm surprised you didn't include the Grand Canyon, Yosemete, Glacier, Crater Lake National parks, to name a few, in your list of "disappointing" photo opp locations.

USAA has a separate "Personal Articles Floater" policy -- not a rider to my homeowner's insurance-- and it covers all my photo equipment and jewelry. It pays up to the amount declared for loss due to accident, theft, etc. for each item declared and all I have to do is call them to report a loss and they send me a check -- no forms, no questions. The last time I did this was just a few months ago when a my $500 AF zoom lens stopped focusing and I was able to replace it with a brand new AF zoom, which was actually better than the one I had and I ended up putting a few bucks in my pocket.

Don’t know where to find shutter count
Bought years ago and planned to use in retirement. That did not happen so I want to sell it all

Google Pentax DSLR shutter count and you'll find a couple of websites for checking shutter count: here are a couple -- https://www.pentaxforums.com/pages/check-shutter-count-exif.html; https://www.camerashuttercount.com/

What's the shutter count and why are you selling it?

Also, any warranty left and if so, is it transferrable? And would you consider selling just the k30 body by itself?

Any Pentax 35mm K-mount lens will fit any Pentax DSLR. It is only the old, old M-42 screw-mount Pentax or any other screw mount lens that needs a K-mount screw-on converter to work on a Pentax DSLR. If you would go to the Pentax (now Ricoh) website you would have learned that.
