A little farming town in New South Wales had a plague of mice that was out of control. The locals tried everything but they couldn't get rid of the mice. Then, one day, a stranger arrived in town & told the people that he could get rid of the mice, but it would cost a thousand dollars. They agreed.
He opened a box & took out a little green mouse, saying, "This is a magic mouse & it will get rid of your mice. There is no need to pay me until the mice have all gone".
He put the mouse on the ground & the mouse took off up the main street. All of the mice came out of hiding & followed it, just like the Pied Piper. The green mouse headed for Yamba, 300 miles away, with more mice joining the procession along the way. When they reached Yamba, there were millions of mice, with the line stretching for 10 miles.
The green mouse ran out to the end of the jetty, which is half a mile off shore, & jumped off. All of the mice followed suit & were drowned.
The people were amazed & when they paid the man his thousand dollars, the Mayor said to him, "I don't suppose you'd have a little green Muslim, would you?"
