I have taken this lens on many trips and have never regretted it. It is a handy lens with decent quality and I like not having to carry a bunch of lenses when traveling.

Thank you for this response.
It is cultural and the reasons you state are so true.
I live in Vermont....for residents, it is very easy to purchase a semi-automatic hand gun or rifle, no waiting period or other limitations. Vermont has one of lowest per capita gun homicide rates in the country while it's residents enjoy a relatively high gun ownership level when compared to other states.
Linda, yes it was in 1998. I live in Vermont and remember it well.
I suspect the culture has more to do with low gun crime. When I visited Japan several years ago I noticed that everywhere I went, I saw no signs of littering. I asked our friend who lives in Tokyo, what kind of laws are used to curb littering. I was told that they did not need laws, because, "why would you want to dirty your home". Laws do not shape a culture rather, family, faith, and good values are where we need to put our focus.
Welcome, you will find that the more you get into photography, a whole new world opens up for you.
When I travel, I always end the day by quickly scanning through my photo's in my camera and delete the one's that are clearly of poor quality. Been doing this over the past 8 years and never had a SD card problem with either my old Nikon D90 or my D810. Once at home and the Photo's are uploaded to my computer, I then reformat the card.
Restaurants usually add tips/service chargers as part of the pricing for large groups... and that is built into the price per serving.
Beautiful shots! Did you shoot these with any type of lightening motion triggering device attached to the camera?
Hi Danni, welcome to the forum. One of the great advances of digital photography is that you can experiment and get immediate feedback. You can get overwhelmed by differing opinions, on lens selection, camera types, etc., but I would recommend learning as much as you can about your camera and try to master all it's capabilities. It is a wonderful hobby and will provide many years of enjoyment.
Shot this an Antartica several years ago.
The boat was named after Harald Halfdansson (Old Norse: Haraldr Hálfdanarson; c. 850 – c. 932), better known as Harald Hårfagre English: Harald Fairhair), was remembered by medieval historians as the first King of Norway. He was my 29th Great Grandfather.
My wife and I travel a lot and noticed that as our flight status increased, pre-check became more frequent. It use to be nice, but I have noticed that over the past two years or so, the number of people getting pre-check has increase, so no longer short pre-check lines. It's nice in larger airports, but in small airports, not much difference.
Very nice capture. Camera, lens, settings?
