And then there's On1 Photo Raw 2018. I LOVE IT and there are loads of online tutorials along with a free trial.

I don't believe any posters mentioned the FDR Memorial, especially at night!

We've still not resolved how the files were copied.
Did the user drag copy them from the Photos Library as objects or did the user move the Photos Library as an object with all items intact?
OR, was the user not using the Photos application and its associated library to manage the images.
And, what version of the MacOS?
Different versions of the MacOS have different versions of Photos and how they manage content may vary.
The answers may help us determine what happened.

Did you copy/move your "Photos Library" to the external drive or just the photos, and if it was just the photos, how did you do that?
Your responses may help reveal a workable solution.

For the MacOS users who've been reading this thread, your Mac (and iPhone and iPad) come(s) with iMovie, an easy-to-use, flexible tool that can do most of the things any entry (and even seasoned) level shooter/editor could want to cut. . . . that's what video editing is.
And, every Apple Store offers "Today and Apple" workshop/sessions to deliver the fundamentals of using all Apple products, including editing on your Mac, iPhone and iPad, all of which are capable of getting you there! And best of all, they're all FREE, software and training.
BTW, while, I've been using FCP since v.1, I still use iMovie for some simple things that I can then bring to my FCP project. And, DaVinci Resolve is FREE and while there may be a learning curve, it is very powerful unless you want even MORE POWER in your editing, then there's a paid version.

ddetloff stated the right way to do a MacOS upgrade. One added step is to do a TimeMachine backup before upgrading "just in case."

Page, AZ is near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. You MUST photograph Lower Antelope Canyon on the $80 (?) tour with tripod and wide angle lens. I was only able to do the Upper Canyon tour because we arrived too late and couldn't get into the tour I wanted. I think that the Lower Canyon tour books online and leaves directly from Page, not from what appears to be the departure point for other tours. Search online for images of Lower Antelope Canyon and you just might have a new "bucket list" addition.

True about advanced functionality of Camranger over D750, but for my purposes in the studio, it's enough. I'm not a wildlife shooter.

If you'e convinced that it's right for you, since I bought my Nikon D750 which has built in features, I no longer need mine. Interested in making a fair price offer?

Based on the difficulty you seem to be having, I suggest visiting
http://getsupport.apple.com
The technical support folks you can connect with should be able to give you the guidance you need to resolve this problem or refer you to your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar for help if they can't.
Depending on when you connect, you will either have an online chat session or arrange for a telephone callback at a time of your choosing. While getsupport is free and 24/7, telephone support is limited to 14-hours per day.
One more time . . . it is free, nada, zilch – a service of the most valued and valuable company in the world whose hope is to make sure you keep working using your Apple hardware and Apple software!
I'm a champion, having used it. But, I also work for Apple and am passionate about sharing this new service intended to provide frustrated users the help they seek without having to wait to visit the Genius Bar – which is also free (unless an out-of-warranty hardware repair/replacement is needed).

The one I used is the genuine Nikon EN-EL15 7.0V 1900mAh 14Wh battery that came with the camera. I also have a Watson-branded equivalent which has only 1800mAh 12.6Wh battery, but I didn't do the video test using that battery.

I've tested recording five complete sequential 20-minute videos and the camera stopped recording when the battery was depleted. I turned the camera off, replaced the battery, removed the card and ingested the video to my Mac to see how much video was actually captured, including the portion of the last clip before the camera shut down. I reformatted the 128 GB 150MB/s Lexar Professional SDxc 10, II 3 card and was ready to begin recording again. I'm ready to get both an external power source and an Atomos Assassin recorder to remove both the power problem and 20-minute recording limit for HD video. But, the camera never seemed to get hot enough to affect the outcome of my work.
