The group name is:

Jtoolman Photo Printing Techie

Odd name but a great group on Facebook with a wealth of inkjet photo printing knowledge.

If your on Facebook join the JTToolman Jose Rodriguez inkjet printing group. I’ll find the actual group name and let you know. Or on YouTube Jose Rodriguez has a few hundred videos on inkjet printing. He’s an expert on Canon & Edson Photo printers.

I know he will say to download a standard test image and print it from photoshop or Lightroom with NO Adjustments. If it prints properly then your printer is fine.

It’s possible that you are double color managing your image. If you print it from photoshop when you print in the Canon driver you need to say let photoshop manage the color and not have the Canon driver do anything. Jose explains it better. Hope this is a start.

Someone on the Jose Rodriguez photo printer forum just had this issue. Downloading and installing the latest software from Canon, even if it’s what you have now, fixed it for him. Somehow the driver got corrupted.

I’d guess a stuck or dirty sensor that detects the paper size. A bad driver. Are you adjusting the paper guides to fit the paper? Possibly the app you’re using says one size paper and the print driver another? Hope you figure it out and it’s not a hardware issue.

I don’t have an answer for you right now, but I have a Phottix Mitros and Odin and went thru this myself until I found the correct setting. Then it was like AHA! What setting is your camera in? Auto, S, A, M? Also what is your ISO set too. I remember once having this issue only to find my ISO was at like 3200 from a nighttime session I’d previously done. Just somethings to check. When I officially wake up, maybe I’ll break my flash out and try to help. Right now, it’s back to bed. Good luck.

What you show there is called a camera stand, not a tripod. That is what we used in our studio. I preferred it much better than a tripod. It rolled easy when not locked in and also could go from almost the floor to over 6’ up extremely quick. Much easier than adjusting tripod legs. Like mentioned it had a counterweight in the center column attached to a steel cable which ran over a small pulley that attached to the center piece of outside square tubing. That rode on 4-8 nylon rollers to guide it squarely on the center column. Make sure your guides are strong enough to hold the weight of your camera body with a lens & the head of your choice with a quick release. The opposite side had a tray to hold other lenses, filters etc.

Mfgs to check were Manfrotto who’s was a bit too lightweight, Union Brothers, and others.

You may want to check with used camera stores. When many studios went digital and stopped using large format they dumped their camera stands dirt cheap. That’s how we bought our second one to replace the Bogen that couldn’t hold our Mamiya RZ.

Good luck welding something up.

Btw would be easier with round pipe but more sturdy with Square stock.

At one time I literally had thousands of photo magazines. I kept them for reference pre mass internet. Shutterbug, Pop Photography, Studio, Range Finder, Outdoor Photography, American Photo, Professional Photographer, After Capture, Digital Photo Pro. When I downsized I tried to give away or donate them. No one wanted a free education library. Went to recycle.

I know get all my magazines through Zinio on my iPad or PC. My only complaint is you can’t actually download them or back up. Your at the mercy that Zinio will stay in business.

The nice thing about web based is the quality of the images and the hyper links to the company’s website or photographer’s site.

I had purchased and or subscribed to shutterbug since the mid 80’s when the classifieds were the largest part, looking for a deal on an RZ etc. Losing that and their advertisements except for B&H, Adorama, Paul Buff -Lighting really hurt them. But I learned a lot reading there and then doing it. I’ve got a year left on Zinio of SB now.

You can get a good tripod for your budget or less. I’ve been watching Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. At least 20-30 tripods on there. Most are cheap junk but several Bogen / Manfrotto, Tilt All, & Sunpack. Right now there’s a mid level Bogen with a ball head for $50! Place a search in both places and save the search. Every day you’ll get a report of all new posts that fit your criteria. Good luck.

My mom came down with early onslaught of Alzheimer’s starting around 48. Within a few short years she stopped talking.

My father gave up everything to keep the woman he loved and vowed to keep in sickness & in health at home. After he suffered a heart attack he had to make the very tough decision to place her in a nursing home. The first available one was not very nice, but he found a better place. They took good care of her because he visited 2-3x a day. He would take her on long rides, which calmed her down. This racked up 100’s of thousands of miles on his Subaru’s. In order for Medicare to help pay he had to first spend everything he owned. He lost his pension, their beautiful home, everything. They could have had a wonderful retirement full of grandchildren.

She spent nearly 10 years in this nursing home. Much of it tied to a wheelchair because she was a flight risk. A sign of Alzheimer’s is constant agitation and walking trying to get to somewhere, so they’ll escape. We lovingly called her Houdini.

For over 10 years she couldn’t speak. We couldn’t tell if she was in pain, hungry, needed a bathroom.

My point, I’m 57. I’ve been in chronic pain with 3 back surgeries 4 levels fused with hardware and a failed neck surgery 2 levels fused, plates & screws. Today while shopping with my wife, sitting in a chair, I was in agony. I could tell her, so we wrapped up and went home.

My biggest fear is getting Alzheimer’s, or just in general ending up in a home. And my wife works as a marketer and in sales for a very good assisted living facility. If I couldn’t talk, or was at the mercy of a nurses aid paid $12/hour to give me my pain meds, I may go out of my mind. Then you have the possibility of someone in a lesser place taking your narcotics for themselves. I will take my chances at home until the bitter end. And I’ve told my daughter who was an EMT for years if I get Alzheimer’s and can’t talk or care for myself, please inject an air bubble in my vein to kill me.

Sorry, but I’ve seen great care if you have $3500 a month and are healthy and warehousing if your on Medicare and sick. This is my Humble Opinion.

If anyone is interested in making the most of the Smartphone cameras there’s a group on the web, Facebook, Instagram, and a Podcast called Tiny Shutter Podcast. On Instagram they are @tinyshutter. They cover the techniques, accessories, and APPS. With the correct app you can shoot manual and record RAW files and get some pretty amazing images.

I upgraded from an iPhone 5 that was falling apart to an iPhone 8+ I recently purchased a tripod adapter and remote release for it.

Personally I’ve always found the prices in pawn shops to be as high or higher than a camera store where I’d have some backup if it failed the next day. The pawn shops I’ve been in had a No Returns, All Sales Final policy.

Also here in Reading PA we have a real problem with drugs. So there’s a lot of theft to pay for their habits. Recently after being surveyed for awhile 2 pawn shops were closed and the owners arrested for receiving stolen goods.
