time has marched on, I have lots of time; have purchased an Epson V850 - any advice would be helpful

1. how to uncurl 35mm negs ( doesn't seem to be possible, no answers on Google, no respones from a previous UHH query

2. Correct settings, unless default is ok; problem is, when I look at the negs on my pc, they "pixelate" once you start to enlarge the image

Uncurling 35mm film: Back in the day uncurling 35mm film was accomplished by re-wetting then hanging with a weight on the end. When dry, the film strip was reasonably straight. Used Kodak's 'Photoflo' during the wetting to minimize streaking.

Burke,
Thanks for the tip about the CharJen dock. I'm not unhappy with a SutechSmart hub, but it doesn't have the SD readers, 3.5" h-phone jack.

I'm looking for a new Mac. Mine is ancient. Ive been an Apple guy since 1993. I would love to get an M1 computer but the largest monitor available is 24". I currently have a 27". Why would I downgrade?? Oh yeah I could get a 27" but it has the old fashioned Intel chip. PLUS if you look at the new iMacs they all look like toys. They appear to have been made for grade schoolers with pastel colors.. I'm not happy with the quandry I've been presented.

Easy solution: Pick an M1 model – Mini, MBAir, MBPro that fulfills your current and anticipated future needs. Get one of those USB-C hubs to allow you to attach more peripherals; Select an external monitor 27" or larger. Voila!
I replaced a 2012 MBPro with a 2020 M1 MBPro, plugged in a USB-C hub and a 32" monitor. No complaints. The new machine is faster, runs cooler and except for losing some now considered ancient apps, no complaints.

Second Soul Dr. - Whether Western Union is traceable wouldn't necessarily get your puppy delivered. Your best solution would be to follow Sally D.'s response.

What battery does it need? Is it easy to find? Thx

It takes a 1.35v MR9. Originally a mercury battery now obsolete.

Zinc-air replacements available at Amazon. Search for Exell 1.35-Volt Zinc Air Coin Cell Battery; or,

Use an adapter FASTROHY 2Pcs MR-9 Battery Adapter Replacement for Film Camera and Exposure Meter MR9 PX625 PX13 - into which a LR44 or a 1.4v zinc-air. Note this adapter does not step-down the voltage.

Hi. Has this camera been overhauled recently? When was the last service ? And where. Thanks. Tom

Tom,
As stated in my post the camera was CLA'd (Cleaned, Lubed and Adjusted) by DAG Camera (Don Goldman) located in Oregon, WI last month, September 2021. Has not been used since it was returned.

Leica M3 with Leica MR meter.

CLA’d by DAG Camera - Sep 2021

• Camera in excellent condition
• MR meter needs a new battery

Price $1600. + actual shipping & insurance costs

For the uninitiated a biography of Leica can be read in the September 24, 2007 edition of the New Yorker, Candid Camera by Anthony Lane, or reply for a clip of the article.

When I had Leica rangefinders (1958-2006 or so) the individual names I heard mentioned most often for repairs were Sherry Krauter and Don Goldberg (sometimes just referred to as DAG.) Both had independent repair operations with impeccable reputations.

Thanks Wrangler. DAG just did a CLA on my M3 dbl stroke which I intend to sell soon.

My 60 year-old M-mount Leitz Tele-Elmarit f 2.8/90 has interior haze, probably fungus (where does it come from?). Does anyone know and recommend a service facility that would disassemble, clean and restore to pristine condition?
Recommendations welcomed.

Two problems with that: they exist; I don't have one.

Actually, I haven't been able to persuade myself to order one. Since it won't run my Windows programs, except for Adobe, its usefulness would be limited.

You can run Windows.
