I'll go with Ansel Adams who was known for his b/w photography but who also produced some 3000 color transparencies 50 of which are published in a book "Ansel Adams in Color" published in 1993 and edited by Harry Callahan. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
The man truly was a genius with a camera.

IMHO The time to go to Yosemite is in early spring right after the snow melt and before the crowds. You will not see too much wildlife, except for the occasional deer, BUT what you will see are some magnificent falls: Bridalveil, Yosemite, Vernal, and Nevada. The waterflow tends to diminish in the summer. There is also Half Dome and mirror lake and the merced river. Used to live in Mammoth Lakes and made a pilgrimage every year to Yosemite (one of the most beautiful places in the world!) If you do go in the spring bring a poncho if you want to get near the falls so you can keep your equipment from getting wet. Many picture taking opportunities. Just ask Ansel Adams! (just kidding!)

Great website! Been reading it since Jan '13 and have learned a lot. Just registered. Been a Canon user since '70's starting with the F-1, migrated to the T-90 then dropped out of photography for a while. Bought 30D for a trip to China in 2006, then moved up to a 50D for a trip to Russia in 2008. Last year spent 26 days in Italy. Live in an area where there is a lot of wildlife and are always picturetaking opportunities. Definitely can learn a lot from the info on UHH. Will be 84 in June but my friends call me "forever young"

I just registered to UHH although I have benn reading it since January 2014. Spent three weeks in Italy May of 2013, one week of which was on a five masted sailing ship on the Amalfi coast. Took my Canon 50D with an 18-200mm efs is lense and Never took it off the camera. Brought a longer lense and found little need for it. Lots to photograph. Take xtra cards and spare batteries. Have a great time. Also comfortable walking shoes. Alfaman.
