I'd love to get up and see that sweetheart in my backyard. She's gorgeous!

Thanks for your comment. That's the reason I had to share.

You're right, pretty lady :) Love the treatment in post as well ... almost a fantasy-like quality to the shot.

Thanks for sharing!

Noticed her just before 9:am and she left just after 2:pm. Munched some leaves from the pear tree, took a drink at the bird water and otherwise lazed around.
Picture taken thru multiple layers of glass so a little soft.
Taken in raw, some pp and converted to jpeg for posting.

EXIF for both photos identical: 148mm f2.8 1/640 ISO 10000

gives credence to the problem being lighting flicker.

The "undocumented history" that has occurred here. The stories that might be told.
Great capture.

Did not expect this many comments. Thank each of you for looking and your time in commenting. Also did not expect as much positive as expressed. You have taught me a lot today and again I thank all of you. Each yes and each no adds to my understanding and is an aide to improving.

I really like the general photo, but it would have been better without the "grass/weed" that is out of focus in the lower right. Without that distraction it could serve as a background replacement for the right subject. I sometimes go out to get shots like this myself.

Like your idea of background replacement. Thanks

Was trying out a different lens and took this shot to check detail capabilities. The colors of the stones and in the water are from bright morning sunlight reflected under the tree canopy. My eye did not see these colors, the camera did. Minor pp, brightness, contrast, touch of sharpening.

My Wolverine scanner detects negatives (color or b&w) and converts them to a positive file. I have done several and followed with pp and cleanup/restore. Very effective.

Can somebody please tell me how to create a completely black background? I see a lot of photos where the background is blacked out making the subject pop!

Set your camera on manual, leave the lens cap on and take a picture.
use the result as a background layer in pp. You can take pictures of solid color objects and use them in the same way for other colors.
