Don't forget to set your camera to continuous mode. you'll never get that that perfect action shoot, shooting in single mode
I agree, I shoot my first basketball game a few weeks ago, and after a few dozens of shots this is what I learned:
Try to anticipate the shot.
Don't use S mode too much. The pictures tend to look washed out colored.
And have fun.
I love my old Olympus E510.
Sure its getting a little obsolete, and technologically challenged, but it is my first love, and I love the portability and weight.

Like it or not, the way you write/talk is a reflection on your education and intelligence. At the very least is is an indication of your attention to detail: do you re-read your post before hitting "send?"
Now if English is not your first language, that is a different story.
Sorry to disagree with you on this one Captain C.
I do not think that English not being a person's first language incapacitates a person from using a good grammar.
When I came from Guatemala to live here, I took English classes at the university, and let me tell you, it was sad to see the poor English of kids that just finished highschool.
I think is more a matter of laziness caused by tweeter, facebook etc.
I mean, I see my cousins and relatives posting messages either in English or Spanish on Facebook, that would make cry Shakespeare and Cervantes at the same time!
Johns lennon "Imagine" words make more sense to me now.
Wow! This give a whole meaning to "shooting nature"
I always carry my loaded olympus and my celphone as side weapon.
Thanks for sharing.
It was refreshing not to read hateful political trash, but funny insighful words.
I almost skip this post, because as artangel, I am not in love with political chat.
Glad I didn't
I don't like to share about things I don't know too much, but I know this fact: a couple of years ago, a single individual at Walmart where I work was able to get a basic no frills insurance for about $40 bucks per check. The only requirement was to work certain number of hours.
Now full time associates are never getting forty hours a week. We, department managers are alone, without associates to help us, and associates who have been with the company for twenty years, are schedulle only once or twice a week. Probably soon they won't be elegible to insurance tthru walmart because of their hours average worked.
By the way, my brother, who never had insurance and always paid upfront doctor visits, now have to pay $600 a month for him, his wife and one son, or the goverment will charge him thru taxes...
