Really beautiful shots, Cliff! Love the moose!

Thanks sailors mom, the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park are pretty numerous in moose. Just cows calves and yearlings. The Bulls are up in the forest higher up.

Really appealing shot of the elk relaxing in a beautiful setting. Also love the moose close-up :)

I cropped the foreground of the shot. Do you like the crop or the original?

These are really good. I am going to be visiting the park next month and hope to get some good photos.

Thanks Andrea. Give me a PM, maybe Rebecca and I can go to the park with you and yours and take some pictures. I live about 20 miles from Estes Park.

I delivered an RV trailer to Fairbank's in 2002. On the waay up I stopped in at a small cafe in Teslin, B.C. Hanging it there was the best wildlife photo I've ever seen. Heavy snow storm and a huge bull moose that looked like the photographer just flushed it.

Did you get a photo? I have some more photos of huge bull moose at Brainard Lake in my list of photo postings on this site.

Nice shots. The moose is the keeper.

Thanks Dedereaux. I agree. Sometimes one keeper is all you get.

We had not driven more than a mile in Rocky Mountain National Park before we came on this immature Great Horned owl. No sign of the parents.

Then we headed over to the west side of the park near GrandLake. We saw six different groups of moose from the road!

The male elk are in velvet as they are growing their antlers for the fall mating season.

the second shot is just lovely, and the little bird shot is great!

Thank you merry Texan. This trail goes round a 400 acre lake and therefore has a lot of birds. Plenty of prairie dogs and coyotes too.

Love, love, love the heron in silhouette! Great impact for me.
Linda, if you like I could email you the the silhouette of the heron. Just let me know.

Can't recall name of little bird, but did you notice it appears to be finishing off a dragonfly snack?

I almost walked by this blue heron as I walked around MacIntosh Lake. Would have been a pity.

I am not sure what the small bird on the post is. Could use some help IDing it.

#2 is the best image for me because the man and his sax fill the frame. For me it tells the story of a man and his way of expressing what's important to him.
