Looks you might be driving in from the Northwest, so it's the wrong direction we come in from, but it would be worth the drive from Moab to the little ghost town of Cisco along Rt. 128. It follows the Colorado River and has spectacular views and photo opportunities (Fishers Tower being one of them).

Speaking of ghost towns...Looks like you're going to be at Zion Nat. Park. The old abandoned area town of Grafton and it's cemetery is just to the West of Springdale. Wonderful location for star trails and old buildings. It has an interesting history.

And don't forget one of the world's very best art museum is half-a-block away from the Bean.

You'll have to plan well ahead to find out where to park that bus in the vicinity of the bean in Chicago. Plenty of places to park cars (although expensive) but not sure where to park the bus. There are always buses parked on the surrounding side streets, but always crowded in the area of Millennium Park where the bean is.

On the other hand, if you do visit that area, you can spend all day and then some, photographing a lot of different subjects all within a two or three block area.

Would a circular polarizing filter make a big difference in the quality of the pictures?

What do you think?

Yes......................

These kind of answers don't help anyone. The OP was sincere in his question and was in need of help.

Besides, your answer isn't necessarily correct.

If you are an Adobe CC Lightroom and Photoshop subscriber, an Adobe Portfolio site is part of that monthly payment plan at no extra charge.

It's a very professional looking site and is fairly easy to set up. Check into it.

There's actually two arches seen with the iconic Mesa Arch view. Look through Mesa Arch to the left and in the near distance you can see Washer Woman Arch (look at it and you'll see why it's named this).

It's one of my favorite arches in the area.

if you happen to be one of the first one there ............where would you set up. Right in the middle or off to one side. I know that there won't be enough time to change positions. I will be there on a week day so maybe there won't be as many there.
I have wanted to take this shot for years, and this will be it.

Use Photographers Ephermerus, either the phone ap or computer version, to show you the exact location and angle and time of sunrise for the day you'll be there and set up accordingly.

Works like magic if you've never used it.

Nik HDR is the only one of their plug-ins that doesn't open the same and isn't in the list with others. It's probably installed, but you have to look elsewhere to get to it.

Sorry, I don't use HDR and can't remember the process to open it, but if you check on the NIK installation site, it will tell you how and where to open it.

Isn't CS3 available as a free download now since it's so old?

Actually, I get the impression from my sales activity on all camera's of rangefinder and scale focus that many are put off by the scale focus. In my own experience scale focus used properly can be better and certainly faster focusing than both SLR and rangefinder, because of the need to take the time to focus.

Scale focus needs no effort other than to point and shoot with the needle in the proper scale symbol.

Everybody wants the Olympus XA rangefinder 35mm at $100+ while very few want a scale focus XA2 at $20, and the XA2 produces equivalent or better results, with less work to focus than the XA. I've used many inexpensive XA2 scale focus models, with good results. Likewise, I've worked my ass off for focus with the XA and been disappointed. XA2 Olympus are a dime a dozen and plentiful and my favorite film P&S.

I just picked up a XA2, new in box (yes, never been used) for $18.
Only ran one roll through it so far, but it works like a charm and is lots of fun to use (if I can remember to keep my finger away from the lens).

I have to wonder why you would but this:

When the USA version WITH a lens is selling for less:

Looks like the USA version is a refurb/pre-owned unit (if I'm reading the fine at the bottom of the Amazon site correctly)?

you can do it, but generally speaking the color will not be as nice as a dedicated monitor.

I use an LG 34um95, and while it's not heavy, it does have a large footprint.

Why I suggested it was that the OP noted he just wanted to use it to watch how-to videos while he was working on PS on his laptop. The color gamut wouldn't matter in this case.

I'm not sure if it can be done, but how about just using a TV as the second monitor?
