I think it is too soft to be in a calendar. People have certain expectations of a picture in a calendar and one of them is NOT that some 40% of the shot is out of focus.

Do it on the sales site and see what interest it generates.

Good one. When I walk the neighborhood people will keep their distance. Some even cross the street to keep their distance.

Do people dislike you that much?

The D800 does not take CF cards. You need SD cards.

Mine was a Hasselblad 500C with an 80mm lens. Unfortunately, it was not mine personally but one issued to me by my employer. I did get free film and developing too.

I also had a 500C with an 80 mm lens together with a 150 mm and a 50 mm. But I actually owned mine do had to pay for the film/developing and printing. Quite expensive I seem to remember but then it was not as if I went out and took 200 pictures in a day as I do now.

I would suggest that it is almost impossible, in most circumstances, to focus stack plants outside.

Do it indoors with a flower or some other plant. Certainly use a an aperture greater than 2.8 say 8 to get greater depth of field with each of the shots you take. Use a tripod and move the focus point slowly from the front to the back. Use of a remote shutter release is also advantageous. If you don't have the equipment to do this use the delay function (10 seconds) on your camera. This stops the vibrations that take place when you don't use the delay.

Thanks for the info about Mike Curry. Your gusting winds would have kept me home near warm heat source

It is a balmy 7C here today. Not even a jacket needed to go out.

Thanks. I'm going to see if I can get some closer shots and try different shutter speeds; you have me curious now!

Just to answer a question you posed above, Mike Curry's photos are of an area of water about 2 square metres.

Back from my experimentation. Gusting wind of between 15 and 25 mph so not a controlled experiment by any means. Shutter speed between 1/8000 and 1/500th. No visible difference between 1/8000 and 1/2000th perhaps 1/1500th. Very slight blurring at 1/1250th and progressively more noticeable at 1/1000, 1/750th and 1/500th.

Only information from the club meeting I'm afraid. I have checked with two other pople who were at the talk and they confirm that it was F8 and 1/8000th though.

I guess that Linda's photos suggest that very high shutter speeds are not necessary for sharp abstract reflection shots. When the sun next comes out I will try slower speeds and see what my outcome is.

One issue with the cord is the color. If it were more of an earthtone it would be a better fit. The other consideration is that the leaf and wood have prominent textures and the cord doesn't.
