William, out of your posts, I like this one best (landscape with fence); almost has a calming feeling. Looks like an oil painting!

I must agree with Buddy Bob! I think these are incredible and very creative and artistic. I love all three, but My favorite is #3. Makes me wish I owned Corel PaintShop!!

Thanks for the compliment. If you are interested I think I saw that they were running a special for about $50.00.
Swede

Where did you see this special?

Beautiful! We have a bird sanctuary in our area and I haven taken pictures there. My favorites are of the swan nesting and the free-range male peacock, who was standing right behind me when I turned around! LOL

I just joined a local Meetup photography group that meets 2X a month and offers workshops, outings, tutorials, & more. In fact,I for the very first time I'm exhibiting at a local library with this group. Also in my area is oldest photo society in the US. They meet every week.

I, too, am very shy but I roamed the Meetup boards to "check out" the locals and was very comfortable at first workshop.

Have fun and learn. :)

I'm in the same boat; I would love to join a photography club/group, but haven't been able to find one near me. I would love one like the one Katie Mae just described!!

They aren't ugly; they are Iguanas! My son had one for a pet. It used to sit on his shoulder and crawl under the covers of his heated water bed!

I would try and take out the backward sign in the foreground in Photoshop or similar program. I think that would make it a better shot.

I had lines showing up in my Canon camera a few years ago. After contacting Canon, it turned out to be a problem with the sensor. Canon repaired the sensor, at no cost to me, not even shipping.

Thanks for the info. The camera is only a couple of months old! I have not noticed the lines in any photos, other than the sunset ones.

White balance (WB) is slightly off on the first two. This is due to the time of the day and overcast. It can be easily corrected. Use the sky with a white color probe to manually reset the WB Temp 56, Tint 3~6. Exposure and whatever else is fine. To be honest I prefer YOUR original.

What you might want to learn is to interpret the camera histogram, this will help you more than anything else when taking pictures.

No need to beat yourself over that one.

The third one is red and is supposed to be red so you are fine.

Sometimes the histogram confuses me. I know it shouldn't be touching on either overexposed or underexposed sides, but from there I'm not quite sure. My light meter didn't show up in the view finder. I'm still learning where all of the settings are on the D7000. I was using Aperature Priority setting.
