Last Saturday at 11:50 PM I was finishing up my order for a Canon Pro-1000 printer. It usually lists for $1299 and includes a free pack of paper. Currently Canon has a rebate program for this and other
printers effective till 3/31 - on this printer it's $300 by an American Express card. PLUS - B&H had promo code of "BHWPPI18" that reduced the price by another $200. Bottom line, $1300 printer for $800. BUT -While completing the online order the B&H promo expired at 12 AM - if I had checked out at that point printer price was now $1000.

Happy ending - I immediately wrote an email to the sales dept. and today, at 11:30 AM. I received an answer that Yes, I could still get the discount of $200. I just completed my order
THANKS B&H, no company is perfect but my dealings have also been very positive with this store!

BTW, anyone have any tips/tricks/hints regarding the Canon Pro-1000? I know a lot of ink gets used priming the system during installation - looking for ways to minimize cleaning cycles and purges.
Thanks in advance.

Have the opportunity to purchase this software at a good price.
Anyone used it recently and share an opinion of the package?
Big time user of LR but I like the "Adaptive" feature in this software.
Thanks.

If you look closely there's an area of what I'm calling white-digitial-ants showing up between 2 areas of the picture that were impacted by two different brush adjustments. Is it it due to over-sharpening, clarity? All suggestions welcomed. Picture from Antelope Canyon, Utah.

This is at the bottom left of the photo between the lighting area and the darker area. All suggestions welcomed.

Lizzy,
Thanks for asking. I've only just put the camera up for sale, not ready to reduce price. If something changes I'll contact you.
BTW - my wife says "Doesn't cost to ask". Take Care

Having a GAS ATACK! Need to sell my D610. It was purchased in Oct. 2013, new from B&H - an upgrade from my D90. About 1 year ago I purchased a D800, kept my D610 as a backup - rarely used it since. A few months ago I bought a Mamiya 645 Pro TL - having fun with that, but the D610 has to go. As you'll see in the pictures it's in great shape. Comes with the Nikon charger, battery, body cap, manuals, box - even the original D610 strap (Never Used). Comes from a non-smoking household, been treated with care. It could use a new plastic cover of the rear view screen, something I've never gotten to. Before I put it on Ebay I'd like to offer it to the Hedgehogs. I'm asking $900 including shipping to the Continental U.S. If your anywhere near Central N.J., we could arrange a meetup to try it out. If more pictures are needed, let me know, or any other questions. Thanks for your consideration. My pricing is based on current Ebay sales of this model in same condition. If interested, have a 100% satisfaction rating on Ebay - not a pro, just have bought and sold stuff over the years. Been really fortune with great buyers and sellers!

I recently acquired several pieces of 3/16 inch foam board for mounting photos too. I’m seeking recommendations for an appropriate double sided tape. I will appreciate your input.

I've used double-sided tape when I mounted a photo on foam bird and then placed a matte over it. If I'm mounting a photo to foam without a matte then I use a 3m spray that has worked well. Be careful when you place it as there's not much 'play' to it. I've never tried to remove the photo after it dries.

I don't usually use selective color, but this photo from Darling Harbor in Australia is an exception. The workers taking their lunch break reminded me of a block of birds with their colorful shirts. Agree, Disagree? CC always welcome.

Open a new layer above the image layer. Select OVERLAY mode. Check the box that indicates to fill the layer with neutral gray in this case.

Get a soft brush and set opacity to 15% or so.

Set colors to black and white (click on the little black and white squares).

Now paint with white on areas yo want to lighten. That is, hold down the left mouse button and run the brush over that area. To darken an area select the background Black color for the brush and paint over areas to darken them.

Thanks Ron, useful tip!
The effect is additive. Release and press the left mouse button again and paint over the same area and it will continue to get lighter or darker.
