Canon Pro-1000 printer on the way! Kudos to B&H customer service!

Last Saturday at 11:50 PM I was finishing up my order for a Canon Pro-1000 printer. It usually lists for $1299 and includes a free pack of paper. Currently Canon has a rebate program for this and other
printers effective till 3/31 - on this printer it's $300 by an American Express card. PLUS - B&H had promo code of "BHWPPI18" that reduced the price by another $200. Bottom line, $1300 printer for $800. BUT -While completing the online order the B&H promo expired at 12 AM - if I had checked out at that point printer price was now $1000.

Happy ending - I immediately wrote an email to the sales dept. and today, at 11:30 AM. I received an answer that Yes, I could still get the discount of $200. I just completed my order
THANKS B&H, no company is perfect but my dealings have also been very positive with this store!

BTW, anyone have any tips/tricks/hints regarding the Canon Pro-1000? I know a lot of ink gets used priming the system during installation - looking for ways to minimize cleaning cycles and purges.
Thanks in advance.

don't turn it off. Every time I turn my PRO-10 off, it goes through a cleaning cycle when I turn it back on. Therefor, I don't turn it off. I'm assuming that it's consuming less power (cost of electricity) than the cost of ink. Hoping this makes sense.

Thanks Tim, I've heard that from other sites. I also read that there is a built-in timer on these printers that past a certain time w/o a print or a nozzle check will initiate a cleaning cycle by itself.. It might be 60 hrs for the pro-1000,not sure about the pro-10.

If you haven’t done so, I would suggest a visit to Jose Rodriguez’s Youtube channel. You'll find lots of Pro 1000 advice there. Also consider joining his Facebook group, for more Pro 1000 talk.

Thanks All! JR is an incredible resource. I also recommend the Luminous Landscape website. Check out the printer section of their forum.
