The sparrows were just killer today. Beautiful critters. Just a few of many captures today.

Many photographers won't give the small passerines much attention, but they are as delicate as they are beautiful in their own way. The mottled pattern makes them a difficult target to locate, but the fun of discovering one and then capturing the pose is richly rewarding for me. It is a special challenge once you hone your skills on the easier subjects like herons and other waterfowl. Hope you enjoy these as much as I had in capturing them. Enjoy

...in my garden!

Still pleasantly surprised to find coneflowers growing in my garden, even past their prime, they make beautiful subjects!

All taken with Canon 70D - Composer Pro w/ Sweet 50 +8mm macro converter

Hope you like and thanks for viewing!

Beautiful photos of these hangers on, Angela!
It does, sadly, sound like this may have been their last hurrah.

Some of you saw this in my June FYC topic. The adjustments I made to the image since then were to rotate 90 degrees and add a white border so the outer dimensions would fit an 8x12 frame. Also, this version might have a bit more sharpening and brightening.

I've been looking for a similar photo op ever since, but have only seen small leaves in not quite the right light/shadow - except for the water striders

Feedback/critique welcomed!

Saw these kites in Bali when we were there. I was going to buy one on our last day but with Lorraine getting so sick I never got around to it. Our friends, here in the Village, went over to Bali the day we got home and they bought one for me...it's a brilliant flyer and I can't wait to by some string to give it a go...every day there was a guy walking along the beach selling them and he always had one in the air...the one in the pics from Bali is a slightly bigger version of mine...

D7100/Tamron 180mm Macro.

This little guy landed on my arm & as it looked like a skeeter, I shoo'd it. It then landed on a leaf, so I took a quick shot. It looked like a skeeter & it was the same size as a skeeter, but it was only when I could view it on the computer that I noticed all the colors--now I don't know what it is, lol. It is heavily cropped & downloading is recommended.

How do you keep finding pretty flies!
Nice shot.
