The parents are busy feeding the young, I can't get a sharp one of them flying though :(
Just a quick thought...are you plugging the camera into your computer, turning it on and waiting for it to be recognised? If so have you tried opening the "EOS Utility" software manually before plugging the camera in and turning it on?
Thanks for that Wendy2
I have had another attempt using, I hope with the equivilent functions in Elements.
Practice makes perfect and hopefully my skills will improve...quickly!
Hi Wendy2, yes I would be very interested.
Thanks
I tried in in elements...it looked odd
I was shooting in a bird sanctuary in South Africa.
As the birds were mostly in the shade and moving a lot, the camera was set to a high iso. I saw this flamingo standing in the sun so I and snapped it quickly and before I could change the settings to something more suitable it moved off as a noisy group came up and disturbed it.
The resulting exposure:
Iso 1600, f13, 1/2500, 200mm
I have tried to post process to try and get some detail into the white beak area. Everything I do either makes the white grey or the colours go off.
Any tips?
Thanks
Thanks for looking, I don't know if you know where Alexandra Palace is...it's about 8-9 miles north of London City centre.
I was quite pleased to get the Olympic Park, the O2 Areana, Canary Wharf and the New Shard in the picture.
Seeing others panoramas I thought I must give it a go!
A very windy day with my 70-200 zoom did not make it easy!!
8 Photo's, using Canon Photostitch and a little PP using Elements Trial Version (I thought I would give it a try-I like the healing brush)
I am not sure what resolution to send as the finished file was 42.0MB...
That makes two of us

Good first attempt. Good background change but over all to dark. Needs to be lightened up and have more contrast. I played with it a little and can show you the results if you like. It turns out to be a really great picture you have.
Yes CD, I would like to see what you have done with it.

Good try! A bit too dark. Black and white is usually best where there is a lot of contrast in the photo.
Like any new toy...I probably got too excited with the RGB sliders and whacked them all over too far!
I will give it another go and try some restraint this time...
As it's cold wet and grey and I don't fancy going out with the camera, I thought I would play with a picture I took last summer at a the Hatfield Country Show.
I converted the image using Serif PhotoPlus (I can't afford PP) with my then new Canon 600D and the 18-55 kit lens.
I then thought it would be nice to put the eagle somewhere else...Yosemite.
I am just dipping my toe in the post processing world.
Hello Jeester
It was really only a quick 5min job as I think sometimes by cloning from the photo gives a more realistic texture to the editing.
Anyway I will give your suggestions a go when I have a bit more time.
