I started with a T2i and some of my best shots came from that body. Although the best of the best where with Canon 70-200 rented L lenses. I personally did not change bodies until I had exhausted all aspects of learning that body and knew with absolute certainty that I had mastered all that it had to offer. Glass is enduring, If you really need to spend some money, try assortment of lenses from an outfit like Barrow and find the glass that suites your interest and style. Then invest in quality glass, it won't go out of style and getting glass in EF will extend your range on C sensors, it's a no lose proposition. When you are truly ready to move up to a more technologically advanced body, study study study. No stupid questions here, to expose ones lack of knowledge is much more refreshing than an ego driven move that exposes a wild quest for tech to make up for skill and knowledge in our love of Photography. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

My Daughter and grandson and the newest addition to our family recently visited to help celebrate my Mother in laws 90th birthday. I was fortunate to have some extra time to do some portraits while they were here.

Regis it has been quite a while since I have been here. Your skill level has remarkably improved "very professional". I think that this image stands just as it should be, don't change a thing. It portray's life struggle exceptionally.
Technically I love it, wonderful color, detail and blur in in just the right proportions. Framed 16X20 Minimum! Thanks for sharing!

Robin I always try to buy the best that I can afford and this Sigma certainly fits that parameter. At first I thought I had made a grave error in buying it as it is certainly at first use an unwieldy beast, I was even making up excuses of why I had to return it! I did get an opportunity for a hawk shot "included 1st shot" and realized I had a real valuable addition to my lens collection. I have since refined my technique for shooting BIF and action photo's that have made finding framing and focus much easier. I don't have a point of reference to compare this to anything other than the Sig 150-500 I traded in for this lens, and I can tell you I absolutely love using this lens, I even have captured a decent Bald Eagle shot from a moving air boat. At 64 I am not a strong as I used to be but I feel like I will be able to handle this lens into the foreseeable future.

I had structure to hide behind as I was sneaking up on him and I lead with my lens, it was all he saw I stayed behind the lens and only got to look at him after I had taken my shots. He obviously saw the lens but did not feel threatened. He immediately flew off when I revealed my face. This is his natural habitat Gravel sand or dirt banks they are ground dwellers and only perch higher when hunting. This was just before sunset, the time when they awaken and scout for their nights activities. I feel really fortunate to have gotten images from two different species of owls on succeeding weekends. There is a fox hunting near our camp and he is on my list!
