Isn't it strange how the most recent contributors don't seem to have noticed that you've BOUGHT a lens that you appear content with ? !!

As long as you feel you're getting a good deal, then that's the main thing. I bought mine from eBay UK "indistiguishable from new" or "mint" as they say here ............ and I was happy. Current UK cost for this lens new is £495 ...... leave you to do the currency conversions !

Have fun. It's light, easy to use on D700, and a great focal length for "street stuff" as well as landscapes ........ and the f1.8 is a magnificent aid when you go indoors. You'll enjoy it. Know anyone who wants a 50mm f1.4G ? !!

As You stated never registered and bought here in Canada, Thanks CJ

Not sure about other countries,( I am in US) but I am pretty sure warranties are not able to be switched from one owner to another. Now if the original owner never registered the lens and you have the sales receipt I have heard Nikon will honor an unregistered warranty most times.

This is what I was referring to: I should have done a perspective adjustment, but I can't remember how to do it in elements.

Great stuff I posted question 4 you about this lens Nikkor AF-S 28 mm F/1.8 AS DG RF G nano ? Is This the one you took pictures with? Thanks CJ

It's good to be able to contribute to your thread CJ. There is also an AF-S 20mm f1.8G (released Sept 2014) and talk/rumour of a 24mm coming soon to round off the f1.8 series of primes ....... that is unless they are also going to do a 135mm !! All great quality lenses without going to the really high priced f1.4 versions !

If you go this route just choose your focal lengths carefully. It's very easy to buy 2 which really are too close together in focal length when it comes to actual usage. Cheers from the UK !

Thanks a bit of a cost but will consider CJ

The D700, D610 and 750 all have focus motors in the body so you can use "screw drive" lenses on those bodies. If you are looking for a very good wide angle zoom lens, consider the Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D. It was Nikon's premier WA zoom and is nearly as good as the Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G. It can be had on Ebay for $750-$950. An outstanding lens.

Hey CJ - you and I are not dis-similar in terms of Nikon kit. I have a D700 and the 85 f1.8, the 50 f1.4 and used to have Sigma 70-200. Like you I wanted something with a wider, but not too wide angle. Having the primes, I really didn't see the point in a zoom, so went for the Nikkor AF-S 28mm f1.8 - terrific lens and just right "for me" ! I'm seriously thinking about selling the 50mm lens. I'm happy to do the "walk a few steps forward or back" and think I can manage without the 50. It's just the way I take pics, and I really don't want any "redundant" or "under-used" lenses.

Here's a few examples of the 28 on my D700 ......

The Tamron SP 20-40 f2.7-3.5 aspherical is a great lens ! About $250-300 most places - I would get it from KEH if they have one. You will need a screw drive to use this lens and focus may be slightly slower than you may be used to.

What do U mean by screw drive , do You mean built in focus motor , in camera ? I have the D700 and soon to get D610 or 750
