I am sorry to hear of your mishap. I have a SX50 which had a "Card Error" message come up. I took it to a local camera shop. They told me it would cost too much to repair, so they suggested I buy a SX60. I have a Rebel T3, but I do miss my SX50. I am hoping to get a SX60 one day. If you find someone who can combine your's and mine into one I will give you mine. All it's good for now is using like binoculars. The zoom still works great, I guess cameras are like so many things today, replace instead of repair. I purchased it April 2013.
