we spent a month there a few years ago and really enjoyed a tour through a cavern that wasn't far away. I can't remember the name of it right now but there was hiking in the area with the usual alligator warnings. There was also "Florida's largest waterfall" ( into a sink hole ) which also had hiking trails around

My grandchildren where here so lots of pictures were taken. My D800 seems to take forever to shoot when the shutter release is pressed. They were indoor shots with built in flash. I switched to manual focus and manual settings so it wasn't searching for correct settings and I still kept missing shots because 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 don't hold a pose waiting for the camera to fire. A friend was here with his D800 and said he has the same problem. I was using the Nikon 24 - 70 lens. What's up ? Is there a way around this ? There are many days I wish I was still using my
manual, film cameras and yesterday was one of them.

I have a three year subscription to N Photo. I no longer pay any attention to any of the other photo magazines. I find everything I need in N Photo and on the Hog. I definitely think it is worth it

I've taken that ride. The 24-70 is more than adequate. Of bigger concern is anyone in the copter wearing light colored clothes. They will show up in reflections on the doors and other windows. A front seat next to the door alleviate some of the reflections. Great Ride. Have fun

I switched from a 70 - 300 to the 80 - 400 about a year ago. All I can say is wow. I use it primarily on a D7100 but if everything is in closer I put it on my D800. Handheld for flying birds it does an outstanding job. On a tripod for stationary ones it is unbelievable. You'll wonder how you ever got along without it. It even works exceptionally well on insect and flower shots from quite a distance away.

the 7100 is great camera but rather than the extended warranty I put a rider on my homeowners insurance. It is more likely to be damaged from a drop than from manufacturers defect. the rider even covers it if I drop it in the water

I used the nikkor 70-300 for years without a problem. very good results with relatively little weight my son now uses it now because I upgraded to the 80 - 400 they both were used on a D7100. the 70 - 300 did a decent job with close up as well. it would take extreme enlarging (cropping) for the 70 - 300 to not be judged v.good to excellent. I have many 20 x 30 prints from it in both close up and telephoto with very nice results

I used the 70-300 Nikon lens on my D7000 for years until my GAS attack and upgraded to D7100 with 80 - 400 Nikon lens. Both are excellent and I was very satisfied with the results with the 70 - 300 but the added focal length of the 80 - 400 opened up all sorts of opportunities. The 70 - 300 is very light weight and compact. You'll love it

when I was using my Nikon 70 - 300 doing birds at Ding Darling in Florida I ran into the same sort of person. Not just the tripod but also the "tiny" lens. Seems like they're everywhere, not just up in Maine. By the way, I got some great shots

I have the new Nikon 80 - 400 on my D7100 and absolutely love it. Yes it's heavy and slower than some but it is razor sharp and very fast focusing. Crank the ISO up a little indoors. The biggest advantage is when you upgrade to full frame this lens is ready to go. I have the D800 but I prefer to keep the 80 - 400 on the D7100 for the additional telephoto factor.

I use the 18 - 140 on my 7000 as my combination of choice when hiking and fishing. I also had a 70 - 300 on a 7100. very good results. Now I've upgraded to a 80 - 400 on the 7100 with great results and the 24 - 70 on my 800 with spectacular results.

I have the 24 - 70 on my D800 and love it. I shoot as much as possible off a tripod and at low ISO (100). The extra speed (f2.8 v f4) makes ir preferable to me. I use a D7100 with the new 80 - 400 for anything requiring greater reach. Another awesome lens
