Billing is part of the mating ritual for pigeons, doves and other bird species. After mutual preening the birds interlock bills and actually exchange food. This interaction may signify willingness to feed their offspring and is typically followed by mating. Enjoy.

Beautifully done, artesdecobo! Great coverage of a beautiful event....
(but I must be honest... I had to restrain myself from wanting to put a caption on #8, saying, "Please! I have a headache!!") :o)

I got the same results today as yesterday, message stating the video has been removed by the owner.

Yes, my-bad! I was a bit premature posting it and found that it just wasn't up to the quality I intended so I've removed it. Hopefully I will post one on the same topic that will be better quality work. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Video has been removed by owner, according to the response when I click on the link. Option is to open youtube and search for PSE tutorials.

Sorry PhotogHobbyist, I should have been more careful even before posting it. I was not happy with how poorly I did in creating that one, so I deleted it. The entire 'process steps' were correct, but the final result was not 'up to par'.

Gene, my suggestion:
Start learning post processing with whatever you usually shoot and are comfortable with. jpg.s are fine to begin with. You'll probably get some advice to shoot raw because of more options, and this is true, (later), but I think it might be better to start with the basics, and you can do (learn) plenty with just .jpgs. Main thing: always make a duplicate to work on, then if you 'mess up'... no problem.
Just my two-cents worth.

Hi Don,
I'm also not using a Mac. I've been a PC'er since the beginning, but I'm not promoting mac or pc... just the process involved in accomplishing a task. Both work equally well.
Thanks for your input,

Heck FiddleMaker, don't give up yet. You're a youngster compared to me. (Pushing 88). We may not be so quick but we can enjoy the flowers more since we pass them slower than most:o)
Stick with it. If I can help in any way with PS let me know, but these days I've narrowed my world down from the full blown PS to Elements, since it serves my present needs adequately.

Papa Joe, I am closing in on 80 and I clearly notice the ole brain is not what it was 50 years ago. I have a current subscription to Lightroom Classic and Photoshop is included but I have all I can do to work with Lr. Ps is a tad "over the top" for me. I wish I was exposed to Photoshop years ago.

Thank you FiddleMaker,
It's fun and interesting delving into what certain software is capable of. I'm learning as I go. I'm afraid this one wasn't quite as successful (at the end), as I had hoped, but it serves as a learning process. Gotta keep this old brain active or it gets rusty:o)

I saved the link for later.

Hi Longshadow,
The results in this one leave a little to be desired, but the 'process' is accurate. Enjoy when convenient.

Great video Papa Joe! I enjoy them all and have learned much from them. Thank you

My pleasure Pop Pop. if they help even one person than I'm content. I've been a part of a local Computer Club for almost 40 years and our Club Logo has been "Pass It On", which (in my opinion) is not a bad idea and not just for computer related things, eh?
Appreciate your comments, thank you.

Excellent video. I'm not a PSE user. To answer your question about clicking on the LEFT side of the Resize Canvas window. Doing that LOCKS that side of the canvas so that there will be no canvas adjustment. You can click anywhere on that screen to LOCK that portion of the canvas. Click in the middle and the effect happens all around the canvas.

I was wondering about your shadow. Real world shadows seem to be darker closest to the item they are shadowing and then get lighter the further away they go. Could you have used a Gradient mask to achieve this?
Excellent video. I'm not a PSE user. To answer you... (show quote)

Thanks Fstop12 for the helpful comments about the canvas 'resize'. That makes sense.
You're right about the shadow usually fading more with distance, and that's true but I was going by the existing shadows present in that particular shot which were pretty definite and hardly faded. Probably would have helped though to add a bit of gradual fade. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

I recently posted on YouTube a short, basic video showing how to create a Shadow in PS Elements.
Hope it's helpful.
