I very seldom use bracketing since it is so simple to edit in your software if needed.

Great shots. Osprey are one of my favorite birds to shoot. I was fortunate myself to get shots of an Osprey fishing at a local riverside park.

From pictures I have been looking at it looks to me like a catfish, I know you can't see whiskers, but that might be from distortion of the water. Just a thought.

I'll 2nd it for a catfish. Sure looks like a blue cat but can't see the whiskers.

No, absolutely not. What you shoot and how you shoot it is more lens dependent than camera dependent. The D7100 will shoot macro, close up, portrait, landscape, sports or telephoto. Pretty much whatever you wish. It is a great camera.

Couldn't have said it better.

I've never owned a third party lense. I hear if you get a good copy; they can be great. Just afraid I guess

I have Sigma, Tamaron and Nikor lenses for my D7100 and they are all great. At one time I wouldn't buy anything but Nikor lenses but found advantages in all of them.

I didn't do my homework and ordered the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D that everyone raves about. Trouble is that I only have a Nikon D5100 camera and it doesn't auto focus with this camera. It does on the D7100. Did someone say this on UHH? I'm sure they did. I just didn't pay attention. Can I use it anyway? I'm spoiled using AF and don't really want a prime lens that doesn't have it.
So, the bottom line is...
Now, I'm having an attack of GAS because I want a D7100 anyway. and this little "nifty fifty" will AF on the 7100. What's a woman to do?
I didn't do my homework and ordered the Nikkor 50m... (show quote)

I upgraded from a D5100 to my D7100 last year and it was the best move I have made. I didn't realize the D5100 wouldn't AF with that lens.

Nice Shots. #1 I really like the composition and the sky in the image. The bail in the front give the image depth. #3 is also excellent.

Hey....downsizing my collection of lenses to go RVing.
I'm having trouble deciding a few things....
I have 2 macro lenses, a 60 and a 105...
Which one would you keep?
I tend to use the 105 more as I can be a little further away, but the 60 is smaller.....
Oh the decisions....

I had a 60 and sold it to get a 105 and I find I use it much more than I did the 60.

After downloading and expanding the view I think it looks like a hair of light colored fiber on the tip of your finger. Still nice image.
