What are your camera settings? Did you post-process?
AlB
.04 % PP on the JPEG before posting. Also depends on the camera used - mirrowless no need since there is in-camera process that is acceptable

Welcome to the forum. The question is subjective. Every one sees an object in their own likes and dislikes base on what one's eye sees and processes by our brain. Natural, while is the way to go, it all depends on using the camera normal metering system vs a grey card approach that will require minimal adjustment in keeping with the natural image of the object. Remember the light spectrum plays a major part in whether you must post process minimally or extensive in what one expects the image to be. Fall colors is a great example to play around with. No two photographer will see an object in the same way. For me, it's natural where possible.

In addressing your problem, the simple solution is, USE A GREY CARD approach
FOR ALL YOUR SHOOTING. Your images will be spot-on in JPEG as well as RAW for post processing. 26 years experience using al models of cameras and their metering systems.

I have a D300s/D3S/D7100. They are all superb cameras. Bought then from inception when released. They traveler with me all over Europe and at home and provide excellent images.
I now relegate the D300s to macro photography, GO FOR IT.
Dr.Albert
I do have a D7100 + D3s+D300s with a series of Nikon lens that covers the spectrum. Given your situation on the out of country travel seen, I would go for the Fuji XT2/3 when travelling with this base kit. This camera covers the spectrum of photography when your are out of your country. It takes fantastic images. Too risky travelling in Europe today with my babies above.
