An arresting face, someone who's been through the mill, and it just doesn't stop! Well done.

CathyAnn... You have quoted the subjects words to me 'it just doesn't stop'... Check dave's thread to come...

Shine your photo is striking and evokes alot of emotion. My view begins with his knuckles and moves to his eyes...a regretful look. Well done!

Thank you SnappyHappy for your kind words ... Will give you the story in dave's thread regarding the 'over whitened' knuckles

Shine,

Indeed an interesting image with a battle between his face and eyes, with that big fist he has right up front and personal, so to speak. You actually seem to have two pictures in one, so it appears to me. The added color to it is different and not truly a converted color to B&W image. I'm not sure what to think about that. I guess it opens up a completely new path or genre, so to speak, of a partially converted color to B&W image with separating the whites and the blacks, but adding color as well.

That big hand/fist is a tough one. I think we can agree that hands in an image are tough to deal with whether it be in color or B&W. I'm trying to think about this one . . . and perhaps I will come to some kind of conclusion in the future, with more thought, or perhaps 'if I sleep on it' for a while. You have presented an interesting and conflicting new type of image in Post. Thanks for presenting this for observation, thought, and discussion.

Best Regards,
Tom

From the nose up....powerful. The white on the knuckle just draws my attention.

Love the fact that you are doing these with color, it adds a new dimension to the gritty black and whites that we're beginning to see more and more of. I always like it when someone changes things up.
It's also nice that you didn't completely lose the neck, it is there, but subtle. If it were completely gone, then it would just look like a floating head.

Once again, my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Watch your haloing shine. At the hat! Slight at the nose.
Burn down the bright spots of light under the chin.
Super expression. Creative.

This man gave me a gentle reminder that this subject matter is difficult, it is not always as it seems.
Safety is a priority and this I forgot for a brief moment...
