Left to themselves people find ways of co-operating without coercion.I think of the St Kilda roundabout in Melbourne,Australia.Eight roads devolve into this roundabout.Police and traffic lights combined with streams of vehicles piled up for a mile or more on each of the eight roads in one hundred degrees of heat to make it a little hell on earth.One day some enlightened soul on the council withdrew the police and switched off the lights. Today the roundabout runs like silk with every vehicle giving precedence to those on its left.Anarchism works that way.
