Somewhat nostalgic as my late Dad used to work here.
Then his workplace now a fancy tourist venue.
Good shots.A lot of work done on the Albert dock over the years and they've made a great job of it.
Thanks Angler - god to see places with such a history maintained.
OOPS!! should have been GOOD!! not God
Wahey.I took part in an Army mutiny here in 1945.They were sending us abroad for Christmas and we didn't like that. Also to save bedding we were being shacked up in tiny areas. They opened up the areas but we didn't win the Christmas one.We came within 2 degrees of the capsize angle in Biscay.Empire Battlexe ws the ship.Years later I met a crewman on her."You wd hv stood no chance if we hd started to sink. The stairs wd only support 30 men at a time and there were 3000 of you."
Someone dropped a sand bucket on a guy's head and splattered his brains. But he ws only an MP.The Press required us to pick up bricks and bottles and look threatening before they wd photo us.That's when I became cynical about all media

Hi Trevor - interesting story - health and safety is often the lowest of priorities with many organisations and it seems the military is no exception - glad your solidarity won you at least some concession.
Nice shots. The sky colour looks strange on my screen.
Looks as if plenty of work is going on with all those cranes.
