Lovely, and I like the name ShowySumBitch. As for taking flower photos with a telephoto lens, I actually really like doing that; I think you can get some neat results that don't look like everyone else's photos.

Now that the issue of cropping has been thoroughly dissected, I will merely say this is outstanding.

Thanks and it was a different kind of experiment for me, never tried anything with lighting like that but I know I don't have the right kind of lights. Might just have to go shopping!!

That works too.

Great job, especially on the flower.

Very nicely done, an elegant study.

I'm peeking at these on my phone since I'm away from my computer but I like what I see. It's nice to see something different here.

Lovely. I like how the tulips are isolated among the shadows.

Maybe the question should be, What else are you going to photograph on a warm Sunday afternoon?

I won't argue with "cute," being a snake admirer. I once found a rattlesnake pretty appealing when it got bored with me taking photos of it and started looking around for other things to do. This is a neat-looking boa.

We’ve had some threads here where folks have posted photos of their pets—dogs and cats. How about others? Let’s see more photos of our furry children and grandchildren.

Here’s our Boston terrier, Fletcher in his favorite position—wrapped up in the bed spread.

You really captured the expression well.

Yes it was a loss but the pup was 12 years old and the cat was 18 years old. Both were rescues and the two of them were the best of friends. Thanks
Johnny

And at some point they just need to go.

We couldn’t decide which one to get, but finally decided on the black and white puppy. Then we got Fletcher home and he made us laugh a lot. Sadly we lost Maggie a couple years ago. She was 14, and Fletcher will be 7 in July. (hope you don’t mind me posting a couple photos on your thread)

I do not mind. Fletcher is very striking and I can see why you picked him. There's nothing like animals to make us laugh. I live with a hilarious dog myself though he's not mine.

It is great to have such friends!

Yes it is. It has made this trip much more enjoyable.

Beautiful shots of a great family. You captured some great expressions and the photos are technically perfect. I lost my dog a few years ago and my cat a few months ago miss them. They bring a lot of love into the home.

You've been through a lot of loss and losing pets is every bit as hard as losing people, if not more so, because our relationships with animals are comparatively uncluttered, a safe respite. I'm glad you liked these photos.
