One of our local metroparks is called Daffodil Trail. Over 100 years ago, someone planted some daffodils in a forest on the western side of the Cuyahoga River Valley. Being daffodils, they spread in the ensuing years and now there are large swaths of them on the forest floor. The park has created a trail about a mile long that winds through these daffodils. Being a government agency, they couldn't leave it as is and added many modern daffodils cultivars to the mix. This is a good thing but they are obvious and are planted in rows instead of nature's random pattern. Hope you enjoy them.

This one was called Fragrant Rose but I couldn't get down low enough to check that out.

This is Spring Beauty. Not my favorite image but it is one of my favorite spring wild flowers. It's only a couple of inches tall. When you're over 80, my version of getting down on your knees to take a picture is a telephoto lens.

Thanks for looking in Barbara. Spring hasn't sprung on time this year for us so I'm finally finding some daffodils to shoot. Glad you liked them.

Thanks Mike. I think Ohio's groundhog, Buckeye Chuck, didn't see his shadow and everything is late blooming. Appreciate you looking in.

Gorgeous array of beauties

I got down on my belly to take some shots of those last ones in my neighbor's lawn (they are only about 2 inches tall by us, but have the same flower). I had to drag a chair 100 feet so I could get up off my belly - but it was sure worth it.

Those are the ones, Joe. That's a great photo! The one in my photograph was in a group on the forest floor. The wind was blowing and I was hand-holding my camera with a 300 mm lens and between the wind and my camera movement, this was the only one in focus that was interesting. Bluets will be next down in the grass. Love those too.
