Don't knock our National Health Service. The maximum you can pay is £233.70 (about $290). BUT if you go private, then the sky's the limit (like you, but not that bad).

I wish digital had come sooner.
Using film when on a holiday and used all the rolls I had taken with. On the flight home we flew over central London and I could see Buckingham Palace (I'm not sure if they still do that). Wonderful shot BUT no film left. Always regretted that. With digital it wouldn't have been a problem, never filled up a memory card yet!

When my D90 decided to misbehave, I got a D7200 to replace it.
However, at the time I bought it, it was the top of the DX range. I have had some very nice times with it and using that kit lens has generated (for me) more than satisfactory images.
I had it for about 6 years or so, and was never disappointed with it (unless by my actions). You really don't need to upgrade but if you want to stay DX then the D7200 is the way to go. Others have suggested alternatives, it just depends on the depth of your pocket.

What is a 'STONE' and how did it come into being?
Anyone know?

A Stone is 14 lbs. After all there are 16 ounces in a lb. It's not as bad as Harry Potter, thank you!

Again, for the folks in the U.K.: How are the ratchets that sockets attach to measured? In the U.S.A. we use 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and larger for use with both Imperial and Metric sockets. If you ask a tool vendor for a 15mm socket, he'll ask, "1/4", 3/8", or 1/2"?"

That's why I have two sets of tools, one AF (Imp) and one metric. But what really gets me is when I'm trying to (un)tighten something and one set works for one bit and the other works for a different bit. What were they thinking?
Back to money. Apart from good old LSD (money) there was also a half penny (ha'pney) and a quarter penny (farthing), so back in school days it was great fun adding or subtracting £10 3s 6¾d from £3 17s 9¼d. Decimilisation came far too late to save us! (hope the fractions convert - first one is three quarters, second one is one quarter. Oh and the currency sign on my keyboard is a GB pound sign, not sure what a US keyboard will display).
So starting with a decimalised dollar meant you were ahead of us (for once). But our currency went a looooong way back.

As a Scot, our range of measurements are as follow... (show quote)

As a genuine Englishman, I can agree with all of the above, except a 'Bawhairs', which i wish we did have.
Yes, it is generational, as has been said above.
But there are a lot of shops (like greengrocers - do you have then in the US?) that price fruit and vegetables in pounds and ounces, and to h*ll with the metric system. Also the weather forecasters usually give temperatures in F and C.
So it really depends on who you are, and how old you are.

This is how to take really close up photographs of a rocket taking off

Doesn't do the lens much good.

Oh, I wish all my problems could be solved so easily. Waking up in the morning and having pain beyond belief as soon as I opened one eye. The doctors came up with a diagnosis of corneal epilthelial distrophy (simply put, the outermost layer of the cornea is the epilthelium, and this thins, so that when you open your eye it 'pops' - PAIN). Thankfully, not my 'shooting' eye.
I suppose that's better than going blind in one eye for nearly a year, as a precursor to a diagnosis of MS (same eye). Now, that really slows you down. No more long walks to find the best shot(s). How often do the shots come to you?

And I went from the D90 straight to the D7200 and everything works!
