No divorce pending. She isn't any happier than I am that it happened. She's wonderful and not worth losing over a dropped camera. (Did I really just say that?)
I think I will take up Rick's (rjriggins11) offer and have both the camera and lens checked out.

My wife is awesome so she did not have to hitch hike home nor would she be upset at all regarding this post. As I said, my poor wife feels terrible about it so we will just get it fixed or replaced.
I admit it did put a bit of a downer on my day and I would have felt the same way regardless of how it ended up crashing to the ground. It was not fun. I had a 70-300mm lens but I just left the camera in the car and only took a few shots with my iPhone.

My wife dropped my D7000 onto the concrete floor of a parking garage while we were visiting Boston this weekend and the 18-105 VR kits lens snapped off! She feels terrible and wants to repair or replace the lens. Here are a few shots of the damage (only a minor scratch on the body). Is this lens worth repairing, can it be repaired, where would I send it to be repaired? Could anyone recommend a lens as a replacement?
Thanks everybody,
Rich
Based on some research, it looks like the 70-200mm VRII would be an excellent lens for hockey. At $2,399.00 it is a bit expensive so I should probably just rent one when I need it.
Rich
Would the 28-300 VR II lens work well for shooting hockey? The lighting inside rinks can vary. Would there be much difference between a 1.8 and 2.8 for hockey?
Thanks,
Rich
Dback4430,
The answer to your question is no. I upgraded from an original Droid. This is my first iPhone. It is a 4S.
I did pay attention to the original thread. I do not live, nor have I ever been to Australia. I have no idea if Verizon operates there or not. I simply pointed out to Snecko what I got here in the states and I would think Apple would make it easier for people to acquire iPhones there.
You are right singleviking. My wife and I have been with Verizon for many years now and have no intention of switching carriers as my whole family is on Verizon so free mobile to mobile. We lowered our plan to the lowest number of minutes (700) and also receive a 22% discount through my wife's work. Plus, why would you buy a phone, especially an iPhone, and have no service or data plan?
Rich
Even though you got your answer, I will tell you that I bought a 16GB iPhone 4S in June in Salt Lake City, Utah for $199.00 plus tax.
Rich
I have the exact same setup you have, mremery.
I just take the 16GB card out of my D7000 and insert it into the SD slot on the left side of the MacBook Pro. I use iPhoto and have it set to automatically open when I insert the card.
Then it asks if you want to import all or you can click on the image(s) you want if you don't want them all.
Hope this helps,
Rich
The COOLEST planes ever built!
Thanks to all who served then and now.

Yep, travel time, rehearsal with the band, girls, etc.
You know, just routine.
Hugh apologies to you MT. I should have sent you a reminder long ago but brain farts took over.
The show was a lot of fun. The good thing is that we get out to Billings on a fairly regular basis so we will be back.
I will give you a heads up a lot sooner.
We are in Delta, Colorado today and Grand Junction tomorrow.
Again, I apologize for not letting you know sooner.
Hey sinatraman, no I play Paul in the group. As you can see in my avatar, I'm holding a Hofner bass just like the one Paul played.
This is to remind MT Shooter that my Beatles tribute group "Imagine" is at West high school this evening in Billings Montana at 7 PM.
Hope you can make it out, I would love to meet you.
Rich
