Good follow up.

They are an exception to some of the “reviews” that spent more time extolling Sony than actually reviwing the Nikon (e.g. the Nazi production).

I don't know who started this "Nazi" production crap, but he should be hung by his "delicate parts" by a fine wire.

There are three interpretations of "Z" here:

1. The letter "Z" or "Zed" which should need no explanation. For years, automobile manufactures have used this a a model, designation to describe the ultimate in performance.

2. The "reverse swastika", properly called the "aswastika"or occasionally the "sauwastika" which actually looks more like the "Z" than the Nazi symbol.

3. The true swastika, an ancient sign of peace and good, adopted by the Nazi party and which, in no way, resembles "Z".

I believe I should clarify somethings:

1. Teleconverters are precision components of lens systems designed to work with the approved related lenses. Teleconverters coupled with mismatched lenses can be as ineffective as using a Radio Flyer wagon wheel as a spare on your Citroen.

2. Auxiliary lenses are components of, from adequate to superb quality designed to mate with specific camera and/or lens models. They were, again, precision components of camera systems back into the 1930's (1920's?), but have been used effectively into the path 20th or early 21st centuries. Want to go back further? Consider the convertible lenses of the earlier wet plate photographers.

3. Telephoto lens converters are contemperary (within the last half century) devices, intended to imitate the above two options. While some are barely adequate, others are toys and/out pieces of trash.

DO NOT LET NOMENCLATURE FOOL YOU. SOME MARKETERS CAN BE FIENDISHLY MANIPULATIVE. AND REMEMBER, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR; THERE ARE NO FREE LUNCHES!

Geez, what a PR nightmare!

The chance of FOUR cards failing at the same event in the same model of camera has to be quite low. This almost sounds like a camera manufacturing defect of some sort.

Personally, I've never had an SD card fail. CF cards, years ago, yes. But this is a little scary...

Worse yet, I believed Canon supplied the cards.

BUT, in all fairness, this was on the beaches of Hawaii - sand.

If you need one today, well maybe that will impact today's decision. But, if you have a recent vintage, say one of the top 2017 or 2018 models, in 2-years or so, isn't it more likely the market will be all mirrorless?

No. Too many other options.

For all those who still believe failures really never happen with single card slots and we are all making too much of this issue.

Tony and Chelsea Northrup were on new Canon sponsored and led EOS R shoot in Hawaii (with full production models), and were loving the video autofocus and vlogging UNTIL their single card corrupts and ends their shoot and loses all they had shot on the card. . They also talk about the reality of its 1.8X crop in 4K. Watch it all folks and make your own assessment about dual card slots and having fullframe capture of 4k. (Both Nikon Z-cameras and Sony A7 series and A9 cameras have fullframe 4k capture) .

Actually, I believe they had four cards fail - and a Canon professional there to witness it; he's probably still scratching his head.

A long, long time ago, in this very Galaxy, there were high quality, very expensive, fixed lens (often folding) film cameras that came with, either in kits or with separately sold, auxiliary lens, ranging from micro (an absurd idea with parallax) to 3X to 5X telephotos. I have shot several of these cameras, some with Kodachrome. I was amazed at the quality of some of the images shot with auxiliary lenses. The difference was that the designers/engineers had first built a standard lens that intended to match up with auxiliary lenses and then built auxiliary lenses specifically for that particular camera. Some of these lenses we're almost as expensive as the camera, and a kit, usually in a velvet-lined case, could cost a small fortune (some still do). There's a BIG difference between those lenses and a cheap mass-produced one-fits-all plastic piece of crap junk available today.

Besides most of us are retired and have lots of time to read long rambling threads.

And reading the UHH is cheaper than all the e-books I buy for my Nook.

And often a lot funnier......

Thank you for the suggestion. It looks like a good piece of equipment. I’m hoping to stay a little bit lower in price, but if I can get some thing of reasonable quality, this would definitely be an option.

Try eBay.

You must realize by now, that on this forum, folks will belabor a subject like this, way beyond the time when a logical conclusion has been reached. Just post something about filters, post processing and Nikon vs. Canon etc.- yea or nay- and get ready for a long thread with lots of the usual type of arguments. You can then opt to join the conversation or just move on to the hundreds of other threads. I just shut down my computer when it gets nerve wracking enough. The LOUDER you yell, the worse it gets!

If you want to shut down conversations, why not volunteer to be a moderator?

I'm not quite that crazy......yet! I'll just use the unwatchable option.

Yeah, but try stopping it on this forum. Also, try stopping dozens of useless post after the OP announcer that the problem is solved and thanks everyone.

Yeah, if you're making excuses,, you never want to put in one that can nullify the others.
