Well more like hanging by a web.

Underneath the gutter was a small icicle hanging from a small spider web.

Oh I shot this from inside the kitchen, you don't think I was going to go outside in that weather do you? Actually I could not have gotten good angle from outside...oh well.

Thanks an amazing shot. Thanks.

I am a new user from WV. Just learning photography basics.

Welcome. I can highly recommend the textbook we had to buy for the last class I was in. 'Total Digital Photography' by Chris George. It's one of the best I've read. Cheap too, on Amazon. You can learn a lot here too. I could be a LOT better photographer if I spent as much time taking photo.s as studying this forum. haha

Professional courtesy is when a lawer can swim in shark infested waters and not be bitten. No one should be above the law not even the guy in the whitehouse.

Laugh myself to tears. Thanks. And the last part hits it right on the head.

I get dizzy just looking at pictures from heights like this.

Yes, I watched a youtube vid. of a serviceman changing a light at the top of a TV ant. tower and he was up over a thousand feet, if I remember right. Scary just to watch. I'll try to find it and post it.

I shot this TV tower project 750 feet above Baltimore in 1956, using either a company Hasselblad or my Automatic Rolleiflex (I forget, but it was almost 60 years ago!). No airplane was damaged in this filming. The triangular two-story platform these ironworkers were assembling measured 150 feet per side and eventually carried three TV antennas.

That's quite a picture, thanks.

I'm taking a college class on Photography Marketing and there has been a lively discussion on whether or not the photographer should provide Digital images to the client or prints only. If digital images are provided on a CD, there would need to be a cost for giving those up to the client, at what cost? Assume that there would be a contractural restrction allowing only the client to use/print. Thanls for your valued input!!

Restricting use/print? That would be pretty hard to control. With personal printers, being in most peoples homes. It's my understanding that if you give up the digital files then you would simply charge a premium for that service. Even when you sell only prints, the client can scan them into a computer and print away. My instructor at the college, said he had a client tell him after buying all the proofs, that he was just going to copy them and print all the rest that he might need. It mainly comes down to ethics when your in the photo biz. Some people just don't care. My teacher pointed out that it's cost prohibitive to go after him in court. We did have some interesting discussions on ethics in my past photo classes. My cousin got married and when she got the disc she asked me why they were so dark and why she couldn't……, obviously RAW images. I thought that was a good way to restrict what was done with the images before the actual prints were purchased. Most people wouldn't have a clue what to do with RAW files. I wished Photography Marketing was offered at the local college where I'm from. Enjoy.

Any professionals out there use a non-FF camera? I know FF seems to be the 'weapon of choice' for many pros.

My photo teacher has been a pro for 35+ yr.s and he used a Nikon 300 for a long time before he recently bought a Nikon 800. (My dream camera). He still uses his 300 for lots of jobs. Of course he uses the 800 for portrait work.

In Indiana the cops drive as fast as they want and on duty cops will not stop them they say they are extending them professional courtesy.
I call it professional Bull Shit.

The professional courtesy extends to family members too. My foreman told me his son is a cop and he gave him and his mom, my foreman's wife at the time, a card to show whenever they get pulled over. He said he never used his but his wife….. used it to get out of speeding tickets all the time! Law are written for only so many people.

You are right, Penny. We are so close to a police state that the cops are nothing more than legal gangs!

In my humble opinion most cops (Highway Patrol exclude) consider themselves WAY above the law. I don't know what it is about "Troopers' but they seem to be the best of the bunch.
Thanks for your post. You hit it right on the head. I have been out taking pictures, in the little town I live in, and my parents told me my name came across the police scanner. I sure makes me think twice about producing a camera in public. Yes we live in a police state. I had a friend who said "his dad was a cop in Tulsa only for the benefits of not being hassled by the other cops."

SPACE STATION

This is absolutely fascinating!!!
Keep this link on file and check the position in a couple of hours or days from now.

What wonderful technology to put this in our hands so we can see what the astronauts see in real time and updated as it is!

Current position of the International Space Station (ISS) and the view from the spacecraft......in real time.

I am new to this forum and would like to thank you for your comments! I have been reading many comments from members that make me question my participation. I am new to photography and have a simple camera and love to take pictures. I want to learn. However, some of the comments I have read sound as though there is a snobbery among some members. We all start at a level we can afford. I will never be a professional photographer (nor do I want to be). I really enjoy seeing the photos of other members and the fantastic work they are able to do. It is inspiring and helpful!

I will, also mention, that there are a lot of kind, generous folks on this site. I am learning to recognize names and, as with anything, you pick what you want to read. Thanks!
