Hi all,
When it is too cold to go out for shooting, you can still shoot in the comfort of your home. I shot these birds through glass door when they came to feed on our deck. They are very cute and innocent. Thanks.

Hi all,
This dogwood tree is in our front yard. Snow on the branches of this tree reminds of the Spring when it gets lot of white flowers.

Hi Bob,
You are lucky to have that kind of trip. My wife and me visited Kauai in 2009. It is a paradise for the nature lover but mot of the part can be seen only by air. We took a helicopter with door on. I wish if we had taken one with doors off just like one of our member mentioned that they took the one with doors off. However, I used only one lens
18-250 with polarizer. I saw to much reflections and glare from the windows. Just imagine I was composing the scene and the same time using the polarizer to cut down glare and reflections caused by the windows or the doors. Since you are so high in the air, you don't need a small aperture for the dof. I used 5.6f with my camera on aperture priority. Here are some sample photos taken from the helicopter with doors on. Thanks.

Hi, snow do not look white. I think you should have used one or two + exposure compensation.

I agree with Larry B. with all what he said.

Hi all,
On January 4th, I went to this Garden with my club members(Gaithersburg Camera Club). I took lot of photos there and it was hard for me to pic for the post. That temp was only 20f. I used the zoom in and zoom and other tech. for some images.
Thanks.

You are welcome Sandy. My purpose was to invite your attention what I felt was not right. In the critique section, if we point out to the poster what is wrong or give our opinion to improve the image, it will help the folks to improve their photography talent. I remember, that was my second post when a member pointed out to me that in my photograph, the horizon was not straight. When I saw the image again, he was right the horizon was not straight. In that image sky was not showing. I wonder that many people who saw that photo did not even notice it. However, your composition is right and what they say that if the eyes of the animals are sharp, rest is ok to ignore for not being sharp.
Mohammed
Hi,
His eye is very sharp and beautiful. Since this photo has been posted in critique section, I will say something. When I saw this image as down load, I found that there is lot of noise. To me it looks that lot of sharpening has been done which may also could have caused the noise. At the back of the bird, details are missing only you see a solid white area. Sorry, I am mentioning here what I felt.

Before starting taking pictures, always check your ISO,
metering mode, white balance, any compensation. Also check your lens focusing mode and if camera is on tripod to turn off the IS.
thanks.
