No, actually closer to 12 million when you put in the Medicaid coverage increase.

By the time we figure out whether fossil fuel burning is or is not causing climate change, we will have run out of fossil fuels, particularly if we continue burning them like there is no tomorrow.

I have to laugh, the "conservatives" out there are the ones that are least likely to support conserving our natural resources, like fossil fuels. Burn baby burn.

Nope, the economy will not change just because of the Keystone pipeline.

I would get the Extreme Pro 64 gb. It is about $100 on Amazon right now, which is down about $24 since I had bought mine a year ago. The 95 mb/sec should be fine. Don't go with too slow a card. In jpeg, you will get over 7000 shots.

Another option is to get two 32 gb for about the same price, or for even more "insurance" against an improbable card failure, get 4 16 gb.

Of course the best option is to also have a computer nearby, get two 16gb cards, and simply download the cards as they fill up. That helps you avoid the loss of losing one of the cards on the way home or at home. You have already saved the pictures.

No, even if you have every lens, you will still want for more. For one, you will have to get the bigger carrying bags, then a better tripod, and probably at least the $4,000 camera if not the $7,000.

Yes, many choices. Here are my thoughts, the 100 mm Macro is superb. Very sharp pictures. But that is not all, at 2.8 aperture, it is good in lower light. Second, and very importantly Image Stabilization. I use the 100 mm macro for a lot of outdoor pictures of kids in the backyard, when I go to a flower show. As for primes, I own the Sigma 35mm, 1.4. Great for indoors, low light, wide angle for family pictures. I also own the Canon 50 mm 1.4, also good for indoors, but I find that the 35 mm is better due to the wider angle.

I would not hesitate at all to buy the Canon 100mm macro. It is just great.

Keeping politics aside, I would like to highlight something that was jaw dropping good going on.

My granddaughter just turned 15. She has always had an interest in playing the piano. She was not pushed per se, more encouraged to continue with this hobby. But she hated the old classical music that the teachers gave her, wanted to play rock music.

So my daughter found a "rock band" school of Music here in Mason Ohio. It is tailored to kids in high school, 15-18 more or less.

There are about 40 kids in the school, and they put on a concert the other night. I was absolutely astounded with the talent. They played about 20 pieces of music, rotated players in the band, singers, drummers, guitarists, keyboard. The quality of music was excellent, yes, perhaps not ready for cutting records yet, but certainly very good. The group had some incredibly talented individuals.

What is most exciting is the professionalism of a group of high schoolers. Each was dressed well, though still with the rock band themes. They were constantly expressing their appreciation to their parents for giving them the opportunity to be in the band.

Sometimes you have to sit back and think of something special. For me, this was special. I can't wait to go to their next concert in August.

I am very capable of using PC's, know quite a bit about them and what does and does not make life simpler when using personal computers. I fortunately have McIntosh's, have for over a decade, and have zero regrets. We do have one new computer, that is used almost exclusively by my wife as the software she has for her sewing machine does not come in a Mac version.

I have to say, Windows 8 was a terrible change. It does take some work to get used to, and is very frustrating. If I were a non-Mac user, I would certainly find Windows 7. All the junk with push buttons and stuff is an over complication of something that used to be quite simple. I am sure those new to PC's have no issues with W8, and those who are forced to use W8 like in office computers eventually get used to it and like it. That's great, and good luck with it.

There are ecological damages done by nuclear plants as well. I happen to have a house in New Jersey, not that far from a nuclear power plant that discharges very warm water into the local bay. The fish and oyster populations have really taken a hit. There is also a very large coal fired power plant nearby, not in the same discharge area as the nuclear plant, but in a different body of water. The water is contaminated with mercury from the coal ash, so you cannot eat the local shell fish, or at least are not supposed to. I am not opposed to nuclear by the way. There are four other things that block nuclear, one is the huge cost to build a plant, $20-30 billion, no one wants one anywhere near them, and a two pronged issue that the only funding source that can be had is if the Federal Government backs the loan, and that the Federal Government OWNS handling the waste. Sorry to say, but very few new nuclear plants will ever be built in the US.

Well, then you don't read too much, as there have been many articles and pictures in the news about the horrible pollution in the big cities in China, and that they have actually begun shutting down some of the coal fired power plants. They have installed more wind and solar power than the US, have the huge new hydroelectric power plant, have several nuclear plants being constructed.

One thing to keep in mind, much of what we buy in stores nowadays is from China. It takes energy to make these products, so indirectly we are one of the big reasons China is consuming so much energy.

To me, climate change is only one aspect of what we do with fossil fuels. The more concerning point to me is oil supply, which if you go with todays proven reserves and annual usage, we have about 33 years left, or another issue is the trade deficit impact of buying foreign oil. I think what may end up happening in the long run sorry to say, is oil will become so expensive, we will have to reduce usage, just because of cost or run outs. This in turn will reduce CO2 emissions. Coal can last many hundreds of years, but no one is building coal fired power plants, at least not in the US. And natural gas will run out in less than 100 years. Burn it today, gone tomorrow.

Often no time, I shoot jpeg and raw at the same time. More often than not, the jpeg is fine, the RAW will need tweaked as it is shot more or less as a neutral photo, no applied camera presets like sharpness, saturation etc.. But if I want to tweak, can take seconds to many minutes to adjust RAW.
