That's a beautiful photo of your chickadee! Keep sharing your backyard birds and have patience. You'll heal before you know it.

Whilte sitting on my backdeck, with my left leg convoluted after 2 surgeries. Alas, mobility is now an issue, but hopefully it will recover totally upon healing. But have no assurances on that. Tis up to the my doctors abilities and the wishes of the oldtimer up above. If it doesn't return then my favourite passtime (chasing the birds) will be down the tube. At my age, they say that things like this are reported to take a bit longer to make right, so will have to have patience :-) . Thusly to pass the time (and weather permitting) will spend the next awhile with my feathered friends in my backyard. Hope you enjoy some pics of those characters.

I'll take that. I'm in NL, Canada for the summer. $1.25 per LITRE here and our dollar is worth about 70 cents U.S.

Perhaps Jack just to quote the price per LITRE would mean little to the boys/girls south of us. Would be better to explain it in their language, that's Dollars. Just came back myself from the "Rock" so I know what you mean about the prices. Not much better in my hometown as the price just went up to $1.16 a litre.
So fellows and ladies, here goes. ONE USA gallon contains 3.78 Litres. Thus for us to buy the equivalent amount in NL it would cost us $4.73 (that's for one US gallon folks) But our Canadian gallon contains 4.54 litres, so if we were still on the old method of gallons one of them would have cost us $5.68 CD. Now you can see why the big oil companies (and the government are happy we went metric) as $1.25 sounds a helluva lot better than $5.68 at the pumps.
The exchange rate this morn is $ 0.80 meaning it takes that much USD to buy One dollar Canadian. Thus, if you care to venture north to visit us, the equivalent amount of gas (one US gallon) would end up costing you $3.78 in your own dollars. So, conversely, for us to travel in the USA and purchase one US gallon with our Canadian dollar it will cost us $3.13 if the rate posted was $2.50 USD. I happen to live in a border city so youse don't have to guess where my gas purchases are made 😜. I would save roughly $1 or so for each US gallon I buy in Canadian funds as right now just down the street I would be paying out of my pocket $4.38 for the equivalent one US gallon.
I often wonder (not really) why a refinery shutting down in Texas makes the price of gasoline go up in Canada, whom have their own Oil that we refine ourselves. Couldn't mean the big oil companies are socking to us, could it 🤡😈. I think my math is right but I could be out a few cents here or there.
So it usually puts a smile on our Canadian faces to hear your complaints over you HIGH prices.😜😜😜😜

Call your Attorney General for your area and report the incident to them. Next time get a contract via email or hardcopy before signing anything...

Before you purchased the Extended Life Plan you should have looked at what it covered on Henry's website. It spells out exactly what is or is not covered. It plainly states that a camera that is returned to them with what they consider a "At Fault Damage" (water, sand or impact damage) they would only cover 20% of the repair cost. They are totally upfront with this information. The problem is that you failed to totally check out the coverage you were being offered. If your camera would have an electrical problem it would be covered 100% for the repairs, however, if you slam it into the ground you only get the 20%. To me that sounds fair. Again, before you purchase anything don't do it blind. Check it out😬😬

Go to the eBird website (ebird.org) and check the reports for this Refuge. You can check what birds can be found here (if somebody has posted) for any time of the year. In the select a region area put in Nevada, and when the state data comes up select search "hotspots". # 4 on the list is Pahranagat NWR. It appears there's not much posting for the summer of 2017 but if you look at 2016 for the time your going it will indicate what birds are possible. This is true for most everywhere that people Bird and is a very valuable tool. Also, you could check the ABA blog for the state of Nevada for possible sightings in this area.
Best of luck with your trip to this area. I've never birded in Nevada so I cannot personally help. But I think eBird can.

Damn, damn, damn - the Yoopers have stolen TC and the Mission Peninsula and moved it across the Big Mac. Must be stashed somewhere near Marquette. However, don't really feel sorrow for the Trolls if they let the Yoopers get away with that.🤡😱🤡😱👹👹

Perhaps Canon will not honor their warrantee on a Grey lens, but unlike Nikon once that item is over with, they will repair it. They appear not to be afraid to make money off you at that time. Been there, done that 😁😁

Tis true that Canada was the only non-USA venue that the King made during his career, but during his 1957 tour he did 3 shows north of the border, not just one. Along with Vancouver BC he also visited both Toronto and Ottawa Ontario. A fourth show scheduled for Montreal Quebec was cancelled due to the Catholic Church's objections.

But they only have Steam Engines in Canada - totally Retro

Gawd, tis a dumb statement to make. To say we only have steamers is absurd. So, I guess we also don't have any auto-mo-biles here up north in the land of year round ice and snow. We're still in the horse and buggy days in summer and snowshoes/dog sleds in winter. The intelligence of some of youse Yanks truly amazes me at times. If you have a spare moment or so, please check us out. We are a bit more modern/up-2-date than it appears you think.

THIS GUY IS GOOD!!!!

This guy is unreal. He sings the famous duet "The Prayer" by Celine Dionne and Andrea Boccelli....sings both parts and sounds like both of them....amazing!!

For those of us whom have had and continue to have GAS attacks of some sort. In some ways this gentleman has taken this to the extreme. I thought that this short video was quite interesting, shows how the collecting of camera's can become a lifetime trek. This gentleman shows us only a very small portion of what he has collected, would like to see exactly all he has obtained over his lifetime. I look at my meager collection (have practically everyone that I have used over the past 70 years, or at least one of each kind). It is a very small pittance compared to his.
I think I could of put this in the Main Photo area, but decided to place it here just in case the topic police would have any objections. Hope this works, tis the first time that I've tried to post a video link on the Hogger. Hope all youse oldtimers (like me) enjoy this short film.
Best of luck in your photography pursuits.
