In this regard, people should keep in mind that many if not most cars with trunks today allow the trunk to opened from inside the vehicle. So if a thief gets inside the car, they can easily open the trunk. If you must leave some gear in the trunk, hide it, and make sure you have it insured.

You're right. It never occurred to me that one can get into the trunk from inside the car. Best to at least lock all the doors and have insurance as you stated. Thieves know all the tricks.

Great advice on not leaving camera gear, or anything else of value in your car when you leave it. Theft of belongings in tourist's vehicles is a problem on all the islands.
Would add that if you are heading up to Ulupalakua, a stop at the Tedeschi Winery is worth a stop. Try the pineapple wine....very sweet but unique.

Yes. I heard one story on this forum where a guy was traveling abroad and his rental car trunk was broken into and all his camera gear was stolen. The trunk did not expose his gear visually either.

If you owned a D7100, I would say keep it. But IMO a D7200 is an upgrade to the D7000. First, you have 24 megapixels vs 16 megapixels over the D7000. Second, the D7200 use to be the #1 DX camera before the D500 came along. 2nd best ain't bad. Check Nikon USA for refurbished. Not long ago the were selling for $1000. A little high IMO, but still cheaper than a new one. Good luck.

The Nikon D810 is not the preferred camera for either NFL games or top Division I NCAA football teams. Like Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford, and others. The #1 choices are the Canon 1DX(II) or Nikon D4s/D5. The 70-200mm 2.8 is a must lens for either Brand name photographer. And a prime too, one being the cherished Canon 400mm. The most expensive one that use to cost about 10K. Of course any good DSLR can capture sports with good fast glass and a skilled photographer. It is just some are better suited. Good luck in your football adventures.

I always thought a Point and Shoot was any camera that had a fixed lens rather than interchangeable as a DSLR? The newer Point and shoot cameras are more advanced now, compacts and bridge. They have Wi-Fi, view finders, hot shoe, advanced menu, and RAW capabilities. However, B&H still categorizes these cameras as Point and Shoot. B&H are not name givers. The manufacturers are. In fact I am looking for a new pocket sized Point and Shoot camera.

You could be better served if we knew what camera you have. Full frame or crop?

Personally, if you already own the holy trinity, which means you already own the 70-200 2.8 vr II lens, which, in my opinion, is the BEST broken lens ever made. Why do you need the 105, I mean really, I shoot portraits with the 70-200 at 200mm wide open and it will give as nice a broken at 200 mm at 2.8 as the 105 at 1.4. Why spend the money. If you are a professional and make your living with your lenses then I can understand, but if your an amateur than it is just an ego trip.

It's bokeh, not broken. But I knew what you meant to say.

Did you send your Sony camera to Precision Camera Repair in Connecticut?

This is interesting despite the D750 having 24 megapixels and the D810 having a whopping 36 megapixels. The D750 survived a recall with shutter issues too. Strangely enough there has been comparisons that Nikon's newest DX, the D500 is better than the D750? The last time I saw a price on the D750, it was the same as a D500. $2000, new, not refurbished. The D600, we know that it went through. A nightmare for Nikon. I did see one person with a D600 last year. He said his was OK. Soon, the D760 and D820 will be introduced. And we can do this comparison once more? But I have to admit, I love comparisons.

You can get a Canon SX610, 18X retractable fixed lens, and 20 megapixels for $219. That's only $19 above your budget. This is a nice pocket camera that I saw someone using a month ago at a daytime event. I'm tempted to buy one. If you can tolerate a larger bridge sized camera, the Nikon L840 is a real bargain now at $200. 16 megapixels, Wi-Fi, tilt LCD screen, and a focal length to 855mm. Good luck.

Teleconverters are usually 1.4X or 2.0X.

Could be. It's academic anyway, since I already bought the 6D. I did notice that their refurb 6D body only is now selling for $50 more than what it was a few weeks ago when I bought it. Glad I jumped on it when I did.

I would have bought the body only anyway. And did a lens search just as you did on the lens price. I bet had you called Canon USA on this, they would have said oops, and probably made a price adjustment.

Nice shot. Usually moon shots are taken with focal lengths higher than 250mm. But it came out sharp with details.
