I am shooting a canon t3i with 1.6 crop factor. using a 300mm = 480mm. if i use a 1.4 teleconverter does this give me another 192mm which would equal =672mm ????

been reading alot of reviews about lenesn& teleconverters many people use the kenko 1.4 330 pro tele on canon telephoto lenses other than the prime l lenses. wanted more input on the ef 70-300 mm f 4/5.6 is ums lens. thanks. would really like to get out to 600-700mm for taking pics of eagles & elk here in pa.

i am interested in buying a canon 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 is usm lens.several questions . i have a canon t3i and a 500.00 budget
1.is ths a good lens
2. can you use a teleconverter with this lens and does it take quality images.
3.i found a website which sells two models all numbers are the same except the one lens says steel even though they weigh the same.

Your 300mm lens is it the one with f4/5.6 with is and usm if so what are you asking for it ronjay
