Where in southern Indiana? I live in Jasper.

Thanks for viewing! The place is in Brownstone, Indiana. A small town called Medora at road 235, about 4 miles off the state road 50.

Image #4 (solo crane with mouth open) is your best shot IMHO. Sharp, nice blue background, and showing the bird in an action not often captured. Seems like it is calling to the flock ahead, saying, “Wait for me!”

Thanks for viewing and the comment!

Just joined the group. I'm here to learn all I can. Have several point and shoot cameras to carry for a fast grab and an Olympus 4/3 format that I just love. Mostly I'm into wildlife photography but have shot some events as well. Always open to learn something new.

Welcome! I am also from Indiana.:)

I frequently talk about how much I enjoy Black Point Wildlife Drive but it is for more than the bird photography. There are many other creatures to see and enjoy-wild hogs, Bobcats, gators, wild flowers, butterflies and more. There are also unending scenic vistas to enjoy.

The first shot is of grasslands with a trio of Roseate Spoonbills flying in the distance. The second and third shots are earlier shots from a prettier day.

Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. I keep thinking I am going down to the same area or to Muscatatuck by Seymour to photo these birds. The weather has been pretty ugly lately.

Thanks for viewing! I did not see any in Muscatatuck by Seymour in last two years. I saw many in Brownstown area. So I went to Brownstown last weekend but I did not see many. So I drove around and ended up the area close to Freetown. Thanks!
