Wonderful old trucks. Many have no side mirrors which should make backing up a real treat!
The Starbucks moment was the best!
At 75, I understand your attitude. One problem for me would be that out on recon I'd have to stop and pee every hour or so. Just don't send out on desert maneuvers where there are no trees!
Tanks for sharing these truths!
Ain't it just grand! Some guy explains how he goes about acquiring cameras and admits it is not for everyone. The next thing that happens is two regulars are taking potshots at each other! Is this the dreaded 'cabin fever' taking effect?
Thanks for your praise. I thought that the low winter light was appealing.
Maybe your grandfather was not taxed on property as we are here in New Hampshire. My taxes on house and land of $140K is $4.7K!! I am pretty sure that is much more than you would pay in California for the same property. If I put up any size building, it will be taxed and I want any spare money for photography!!!
If you look closely, the Gravely is covered with a waterproof tarpaulin. Admittedly, it needs my attention to properly cover the handles.
This LI walk behind will usually start on the first or second pull of the hand strap, even after setting for a year. Try that with the stuff made today!
I took this photo this morning at 6 degrees F of my trusty 60 year old Gravely.
Snowbound Gravely
I got 41%. Most of the wrong answers stemmed from games, most of which I've never played or heard of.
Here is a trick which will enable you to print out a pdf manual in the smaller size of the original: use letter size paper and tell the printer you are using say 4x6 or whatever size you prefer. The printout will be smaller and all that is left to do is cut the paper sheets down to the size.
You must know the old gag about what the definition of a Flamenco dancer is? A guy stomping around applauding his ass.
These photos remind me of those of Pittsburgh back in the day.
Until the big boys can figure out how to make the lion's share of profit on a substance that you or I can grow in our back yard, the fight will continue. The first thing that FDR did upon taking office in 1933 was to initiate the repeal of the Volstead Act which had given this country 'prohibition'. He did so because the country was broke and the sale of booze could be taxed, thus refilling the empty federal coffer.Money and control are the cards being played.Hemp, which has myriad positive uses from cloth, paper, chemicals and joints was made illegal by a strong tobacco and booze monopoly which did not want the competition in a game where our magazines and radio programs were shamelessly sponsored by these industries, without any regard for the public health. The same BS is working today. Under the obfuscation of control, substance quality and dosage concerns [ all pretty much made to look valuable but contrived] a simple plant which can make you feel good when you want to feel good is kept legally out of your hands. Personally, I don't care to use it, but might change my mind if I could grow it myself without the threat of some insane SWAT team coming down on me. WTF.
