These photos remind me of those of Pittsburgh back in the day.
Me and another guy were standing in line at a local CVS Pharmacy a few years ago , and ahead of us in the line was a young woman about 18 . There was a TV set mounted to the wall behind the cashier with the Beijing Olympics on . The crew races were on and you could hardly see the athletes rowing due to the air pollution . The women commented openly how terrible this was because it is Americans who are spreading this pollution around the world . Me and the guy next to me just shook our heads . What ran through my mind was how many college professors must have " polluted "
her mind , and that this is the voice of this new generation .
That rotten Communist regime adopted American Capitalism a generation ago , and throwing environmental concerns to the wind , industry has made that country an economic giant while a new generation of Americans are fascinated by people like Bernie Sanders who advocates the increase of corporate taxes to help " redistribute the wealth " .
We are not only being blamed for the ills of the world , but this new generation are embracing ideas that will further destroy our industries , American industries that are the most environmentally responsible in the world .
And Obama wants the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris to impose even harsher restrictions on the USA, while allowing the Chinese to grow unchecked until at least 2025. Get real.
I was in China on a tour in 2005 and the air was bad then. We never saw a clear day the two weeks we were there, the sun was always hazy. I am sure it a lot worse now.
America cleaned its air by increasing the environmental laws thus causing the jobs to go over seas where they don't have such pollution laws to create products. Moving doesn't clean the air but just moves the pollution somewhere else. But don't worry the dirty air does travel across even the vast Pacific and does dump on America. Also the polluted rivers do run into the oceans, and cause environmental problems there too!
I remember Los Angeles looking somewhat like that. That's the reason I got the h--- out.
Don't worry the US taxpayer will pay all the fines to Al Gore. That is until there are no jobs left. The us has become a service nation, we don't build things much anymore, we just offer service.

I was in Beijing in 2001 it was the same then and they were crowing about fixing it for the Oympics/
FAT CHANCE
dont believe everything you see in the news! While I admit the air quality is bad in China (very bad), Beijing is particularly susceptible to the winds from the Gobi. It can be bad enough that the sand has to be swept from the streets.
I really detest the news media these days. Journalism schools seem to be pushing agendas rather than turning out impartial journalists willing to dig for the truth. Dont you love they way news people stick microphones in the face of someone that just lost a husband/wife/son/father/etc. and ask how they feel? IDIOTS! Not news.
I saw one the other day reporting live from a highway accident. Here's what she said: "State Police suspect it was a roll-over since the found the car on its roof when they arrived". How stupid can one get!!!! Such reporting is all too commonplace. Shame on the journalism schools for turning out such inept reporters. Scads of them!
That is exactly what is happening---we are being blamed by the Chinese people for their pollution. I used to travel to China frequently and was drawn into many conversations and told we are responsible for their pollution.
I had the misfortune to sit in on a high school class here in the US and that is exactly what they were teaching the kids. The teacher was also stressing that the US is the world's worst human rights violator and is also responsible for most of the human rights violations in the rest of the world.
I, too, have spent lots of time in China. Been there so many times, I lost count. Been for biz and pleasure. Last there in April. Have lots of friends there. I'm aware of the blame game. Dopey administration & kowtowing media play right into the narrative that we are to blame in some way. They report what fits the narrative rather than what's real. So sad. We have to return sanity to this country and not perpetuate what's gone on for so many years now. Guess it's my night to rant.
