Try You Tube..you'll find some rare films that have never been put on DVDs. Films that have Stan Laurel before he tied up with Ollie. And conversely, Ollie before he partnered with Stan.

If the cops brakes had faded..listen to me..if the cops brakes had been faded, the BIKE brakes would have been totally wiped out as well. In the video, he came to a steady, controlled stop. The cop was pissed, and rammed him. End of story. You want to argue this point? Then you are full of yourself.
I don't doubt your experience, nor would I denigrate it. However, I think that you have misread the video. If the bike rider had recognized the unmarked car for what it actually was, do you think he would ignore it? Don't you think he would have slowed down? This moment begs the question: if the officer judged the rider to be speeding, why didn't he just hit the siren and be done with it?
We don't know this answer. As far as his flashing lights are concerned, we don't know how bright, visible or sufficient they were to be seen. You don't and I don't. As a matter of fact, we don't even know if his lights were ON. The officer says they were..well he has a reputation to preserve, he's human like the rest of us and wants to save face. Maybe the lights were never turned on , yet he thought so. You don't know this and neither do I. If there were an aircraft type 'black box' on board his car, that would help.
Anyway, other than riding unsafely in the eyes of the law, it doesn't seem that the rider was belligerent, cocky, or aggressive when apprehended.
Your 38 years of experience with often potentially deadly situations has obviously been successful due to more than good luck. You have inferred that training and vigilance have been your best ally in surviving these many incidents. To that I say: thanks for performing your duties well.
One last note, please review the video and try to see it from some other perspective, say like the one taken by the jury at the trial. Just a thought.

The only problem with your dramatic account is that it is flawed in that this bike rider never attempted to 'outrun' the cop. He was looking ahead, not back as he would have to, and rode very well albeit breaking a few laws along the way. If he was out to avoid capture, using a term appropriate to your groundless assertion, he never would have stopped at the light. Get real, buddy... he was riding too fast, but very skillfully. Got a camera? Go take some pictures!
