One person's opinion, and to be honest, I'd like to see the facts behind his 'science.'

'Interesting' read http://www.youtube.com/user/Awake4Truth/about
Unless I am wrong, he 'talks' science, but has no background in it.

Doesn't even give his name, as far as I can tell, to reference his understanding of the matter.

It must be true though, it is on the internet after all. S-

You know what my main problem with the video was - he talked too fast.

I understood him just fine, but I've run into used car salesmen that do the same thing. The Car Gets Amazing Gas Mileage Drives By Itself Parks By Itself Makes You Coffee On The Way To Work Does Your Work For You And Has A Fire Breathing Dragon For An Engine.

They say so much so fast you don't have time to think about it, and that's the point, they don't want you to think about it, just nod and accept that It Must Be True.

A teacher taught me once, that if someone says Always or Never, they are lying. I don't think she knew about used car salesmen.

A used car salesman would NEVER tell a lie and is ALWAYS honest about the cars he sells. :) Yes he talks a a little fast but it's not hard to follow and assimilate the vast information he expressed in this video. :)

I stand to my point. If you present science you'd better show your work.

Nite! S-

He starts off being ignorant in his first sentence. NO ONE calls evolution "fact" - it is the "theory" of evolution. He goes on to say things that are factually incorrect - such as saying that "there is no known way an organism gains genetic information". This displays his lack of knowledge of simple genetics. One of the ways that bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics is passing the needed genetic information to other bacteria. I stopped watching it at that point.

So you're saying that it was bacteria that created lungs in a fish so it could breathe air when it wanted to ??
Another one got tired of swimming so he hired bacteria to make it some legs ??

Really ??
There used to be logic used with science, but I guess it's reserved for those that can't think for themselves.

Cute video.

But just for example, let's talk about a fish. In this case, the eelpout fish. The biological process of evolution can add new (and useful) genetic information to the genome by gene duplication followed by a point mutation in one of the copies. The modified copy can perform a new biological function while the unchanged copy continues to perform the original function. This process has been observed in the Antarctic eelpout fish, which lives in very cold water. The gene that produces an antifreeze protein evolved from a duplicate copy of the gene that produces sialic acid synthase (SAS) enzyme. AFP secretes an antifreeze protein into the eelpout's bloodstream, allowing the fish to expand its range into colder waters. The overall process is called "escape from adaptive conflict", whereby the copied gene is free to acquire a new function.

So, yes - it IS in fact possible to alter the genetic code for adaptive reasons, such as moving, swimming, breathing, walking, etc.
