Actually masks have a great deal to do with it. The use of masks dramatically reduces the chances of infection. The problem seems to be that there are too many people who believe that they are "special" and don't need to adhere the guidelines. This isn't confined to the Covid. In Maryland and many other states there are laws regarding picking up after your dog. Despite this common sense rule there are more then a few people who refuse to comply.
If I remember correctly lemon juice can be used for invisible ink.
That brings back some memories. When I was a kid my dad's insurance agent had his entire basement made up as a model train layout. I was overwhelmed but I also thought "this is what happens when you have too much free time.
My guess is that the biggest danger is walking around with a handgun that your not familiar with. If you go down to your local Bass Pro or similar store they have large cans of bear repellant / mace which will deter pretty much anything that you will encounter. These products are a lot safer for all concerned. There are way too many people who have been killed by stray bullets.
Tx. did everything in its power to avoid dealing with Covid 19 early on. They didn't mandate masks and reopened way too early. Now that the infection rate is rising by the day they are trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube. People have to understand that this isn't a political problem it is a public health issue. We need to deal with it accordingly. If your inconvenienced by the restrictions think how inconvenient being in an ICU on a ventilator is.
This is really excellent.
My grandfather was a tobacconist (before Fidel Castro he manufactured and sold Cuban Cigars). In 1950 he had a massive heart attack and his doctor told him to either give up smoking or pick out a coffin. After a lifetime of smoking two or three Cuban cigars a day he went cold turkey. When I was young he used to take me for ice cream at a nearby store. Next to the ice cream shop they sold cigarettes and displayed the cartons in the window. Every time he passed the store he would shake like a leaf and grip my hand so tightly my fingers would hurt.
Great music, Thanks for sharing.
As with many things recommendations are based on the information available at the time. As new information becomes available recommendations change. In the 1950's smoking tobacco was considered safe and even beneficial. The Surgeon General's report on the dangers of smoking in 1964 and our views changed. Welcome to the modern world.
What a beautiful bird. Your pictures are great.
I am flabbergasted by the constant partisan bickering about Covid 19. Polio, smallpox, diphtheria, influenza and countless other diseases were dealt with as non political problems. I was in first grade when Dr. Salk invented polio vaccine. There was no debate, everyone regardless of their politics, got their kids immunized. Now people are complaining about the inconvenience of wearing a mask. Seems to me that being in an ICU on a ventilator is pretty inconvenient.
