Thanks...these images are from previous years (Spring, Summer, and Christmas are my favorite times to visit) and it may take another couple of weeks before it looks this or maybe even better!

That explains the Canterbury Bells! :-D I loved seeing them.

If you ever get the opportunity, visit Longwood at Christmas. Search for my topic "Christmas Splendor" and you'll get a peek at how it looks during the holidays.

I've seen photos ... pretty spectacular stuff! I live across the water from Seattle... so it's a trip to get to Longwood. I'd love to see it again someday though. My travel group was there in the early autumn. I loved Philadelphia. I'm not a big city fan but of the cities we visited (New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia) ... I really enjoyed it the most. It seemed to have such a mixed vibe of people milling around and felt "old shoe" to me ... plus all of that early American history. We had a garden theme to our group and places we visited so went to Longwood Gardens, Bartram's house and gardens and Chanticleer. I lost way too much time getting lost in the woods at Chanticleer... but it's an awesome place. :-D Have you been there?

More from Longwood Gardens

Thank you for the shots of color. :-) I especially like the longer shots that show some of the backdrop of Longwood in them.

Love, love Longwood! I especially like your first long shot with those drifts of tulips! <3 Gorgeous!

I'm surprised to see Canterbury bells already. We've had such a cold spring in the Pacific Northwest!

Thank you for sharing. You are blessed to live so close.

Thank you for sharing! I'll have to look up parts 1 and 2. I was able to visit Longwood in 2017 and fell in love with that place and its history. <3

Thank you so much for your compliments! Regarding the pictured Cedar Waxwing...I haven’t seen any other species of it hear in NY, and would be delighted if you give me any reference in this matter. Again, I do appreciate your kind comments.

After I'd said that I did some Googling and came away thinking it's probably about exposure or saturation. In person, I didn't remember their colors being quite that vivid. I think we see the same birds. :-) I love them. They are usually unseen until the berries or cherries ripen. It's a special day when I spot one. <3

Nice flower shots! Yes things are waking up here in the PNW! The birds are starting to mate and nest-build. Thanx for sharing!

Thank you! :-)

Yes... I've noticed a few carrying nest building material in their beaks. Lots of noise outside this past week... a bunch of starlings have shown up, along with more of the smaller songbirds. The plants are poised and ready to grow like crazy ... just need a bit more WARMTH. Still icy air going on. It could change on a dime though.

I checked your profile to see what you've posted and came to this early on. Nice shots! I love that second one. Looks much like our Cedar Waxwings but more colorful. I'm guessing an eastern version? I'll have to Google it.

Thanks! I love spring too! It's kind of a toss-up between spring and fall for my favorite... but spring is the more sweet for having to go through some bleakness before its arrival.
