The simple answer is, yes. I have two and set them up on separate tripods when either shooting macro or otherwise need to augment the existing lighting.

I've been to White Sands many times and always used a Circular Polarizer. It brings out the contrast in the sand and deepens the blue in the sky. If they're any clouds it sharpens their contrast within the blue of the sky. You can always dial in or out the amount of polarizer effect you want depending on the look you are going for. Just remember you can always remove the filter. It's always better to have the filter available than to need it and not have it. If you've never used a Circular Polarizer, I would suggest working with it a few days before you go just to get the feel of what it's benefits and/or limitations are.

It really depends on how the drive was formatted. A standard formatting merely clears the directory and leaves the data intact. A secure formatting will not only clear the directory but it will also write zeros or ones over the data. A very secure reformatting will clear the directory and write zeroes or ones over over the data multiple times to make sure the data can't be recovered. The last two formatting techniques take a great deal of time depending on the size of the hard drive but are very effective. I've never seen data recovered from a drive that has been formatted with either of the last two formatting techniques. However, if only the directory has been cleared it is possible to recover the data left on the drive.

Be careful when using the word "MOVE" when you really mean "COPY". MOVE actually means to remove it from it's current location and place it in a different location. While COPY means to make a copy of the item and leave the original in it's current location. Just nit picking but for a software engineer it's important.

Whose to say that a sky didn't look like or similar at some point in time to the sky that has been added. Just because something isn't there at the point the shot is made doesn't mean that it has never been there before. I don't believe that any photograph is a true and 100% accurate image of what was actually seen by the human eye. They have all been modified in some way. Even crime photos have been modified to being out things that might have been missed by the human eye.

Give me a break!! How long have professional photographers been modifying photographs and passing them off as original shots? Most studios touch up their work to make their clients look better. Most photos in magazines have also been modified as well. This has been going on for decades, long before digital. It's just now easier for the ordinary semi-pro or beginner to make their photos look as good. Call it art or call it the original, if it looks good to the observer then you have done your job to bring your image to their attention. Both your images are very good. The first one presents a warm feeling while the original is a well composed image of a beautiful pond. Keep up the good work.

This doesn't have anything to do with the original Luminar question, however:

In reference to the scanner software/driver issue, one might want to take a look at VueScan from www.Hamrick.com. They support over 7,100 scanners in Windows, Mac and Linux. I have an Epson V600 that is no longer supported with drivers or software. I tried the VueScan (Pro Edition) for $120 and it works great with my 2015 Apple iMac 27-in with MacOS Monterey. Saved me from having to purchase another scanner. They are constantly adding scanners to their support list as well as software updates; you might find that they might just bring some life back into your old scanners.

I wanted some grocery items, so I went to the local supermarket, 4.5 miles away, rather than to the big one 7.5 miles away. Just out of curiosity, I looked at the ice cream. Prices ranged from $7.39 to $7.99. In the big supermarket (Hannaford), I pay $2.48. The difference in the cost of gas for going to Hannaford is only $0.48, so it's worth the drive.

Many years ago, I used to work for Southland Corporation, the parent company of 7-11. They used to say that they could charge more for the same goods that could be purchased much cheaper elsewhere because, "they were more convenient". They became very successful with that approach. Convenience, you see, is a commodity and many are willing to pay for the convenience of being close requiring less time. As to your question as to whether it's worth the drive; that can only be answered by you. Did you spend more money or did you spend the extra time and pay less? It's the consumer that makes that choice and in most cases "Convenience" wins out.

When I mentioned your issue to my wife. She had one of her "A-HA" movements when she heard "Spectrum" mentioned. She has never complained about our internet connection since we converted to Google Fiber. In any case it looks like you have one of those "Chicken or the Egg" issues where you must have one before the other. In your case it seems that you have gotten the Chicken long before the Egg. The Egg being the software to configure the router. Like most hardware companies, software is an after thought and connectivity is assumed. They have assumed that you have a functioning internet connection for which they are replacing your router which is not functioning, causing your internet outage. Just to say this makes my head spin. This sounds like a one of those stories you might see portrayed on one of those old Laurel & Hardy movies where logic is nonexistent. May the Force be with you along with a good deal of patience.

You might start by looking at your eMail Junk and Trash folders. Keep both of folders these cleaned out. Delete any unneeded eMail messages that have large graphic/picture files embedded in them. Because all Apple eMail is initially stored in iCloud, you might want to check online to see just exactly what is using up your space. You can do that by logging on to your Apple ID account through Safari. While there you can also control just exactly you want backed up to your iCloud drive.
