I stopped wearing traditional belts (the kind with holes) a few years ago. I have a couple of the "ratchet" type belts for when I need to wear a suit, but for everyday belts, I moved to these: https://grip6.com/pages/collection-index-page-mens Made in the USA, guaranteed for life. I've bought them as gifts for people who won't stop thanking me, and I have more than I need, but I like to mix and match the buckles and straps.

check out www.nationalparksatnight.com and www.lonelyspeck.com. Those are 2 fantastic resources for star photography. There are others, but those are my two favorites.

You can also look into Photo Pills. Its a great app for your smartphone, and will take a lot of the guesswork out of your night photography.

I guess you didn't read or understand my reply, over 10 years of doing the same exact thing, the same exact frames and ONLY these last prints are a problem.

I read it, and even stated "maybe there are details we don't understand." My point was, that any competent person wouldn't blame the printer for something that had NOTHING to do with the printing (putting it in a frame, which YOU did, not them). Again, maybe there is some detail that you think is obvious, but isn't.

Seriously? After 10 years of doing the same thing, using the same frames suddenly I don't know how to put a photo in a frame? And the 100 plus images before this batch are fine so something changed on their end this time. That's exactly why I CAN blame Bay Photo...

I think the question is more along the lines of how they were put in the frame, not that you don't know how. Clearly, the quality of the prints was good enough that you wanted to frame them. If, somehow, the paper they used, or the ink caused something to "slump," that might be a quality issue, but, based on what you've described, I don't see how you can blame Bay Photo for what you've experienced. Maybe there are more details that we don't understand.

I'm not familiar with the Cotton Carrier harness, but I'm a really big fan of the Peak Design Slide strap. It has "quick connect" releases, so that might be an option for you...

I think a circular polarizer would better suit you. They would deepen the color of the sky and remove glare from bright sun on leaves, water, rocks, etc. They are really helpful with the kind of scenery where you live. I use one almost all the time. B+W, Hoya, and others. Don't get a cheap one.

I will say that while PhotoPills is not free, it is worth EVERY penny. I use it not only for DOF, but also to find the phases of the moon, moon/sun rise and set times and locations, as well as for star shots. They have a very handy calculator to get pinpoint or trails without any trial and error, specific to your camera and lens combinations.

Like many of the folks who posted before me, my equipment is attached to my homeowners policy with State Farm. I found that it was very reasonable to insure everything in my kit, and it is a nominal increase to what I pay for the rest of my belongings, this one is just specific to my camera equipment.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I really have been impressed with the Macro ability of the new phone. Not sure when I will find the time to do a comparison with my D750 and focus stacking, maybe over the holidays. I am curious how it stacks up (haha, see what I did?).

I recall getting my first camera around age 10, and while it was nothing special, I really enjoyed finding patterns and taking photos of them (bricks, stone sidewalks, stripes and the like). I couldnt wait to get the film developed. I really found it interesting that things we see every day could make such interesting photos. I still look for patterns when I'm out shooting, even if its not my intended subject.
