I recently ordered 4 floating frame 11 x 14 photo enlargements from BayPhoto. It took a few weeks to get them because of staffing problems (but that's also a sign that their work product is popular with the masses). One of the prints had the foreground a bit dark and I wasn't happy with it. Despite my tendency to just hang the dark foreground frame on the wall and be done with it, I wrote to them about the situation.

After years as a consumer and businessman I have never had a supplier/store respond so quickly to commit and resolve the problem. They immediately said they would replace the deficient item. Upon receiving their answer I pushed my luck and asked for a different frame size to a slim version. They acknowledged the request, marked the order as a "rush-remake" (with stickers all over my copy of the production order sheet) and had it delivered to my door at their cost in less than a week. The new version is perfect and hanging on the wall with the others.

I know they're busy yet I became a priority in their scheduling. I can't say enough good things about the service and quality of the final products. I didn't promise them to "tell the world" about their service but the UHH members might like to know something positive about this vendor.

Ditto. Been my go to choice for most of my printing. They do a great job printing everything (especially metal) and the customer service is outstanding.

Mine were metal also. They look great with the two layered look.

Agree with Bay Photo comments. I recently ordered 2 18x27" canvas prints from Canvaschamps and one came wrinkled. They replaced it and it was framed wrong. They sent a third that was perfect - they even agreed to flip it r to l. All this done in less than a week each time. I have used them for years and they really stand behind their product - no arguments on replacement. Also produce excellent metallic prints.

If you’re ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, call up Bay Photo and request a private tour of their facility, (in Scotts Valley). I did that in 2019, and it was well worth my time. Their facility is 110,000 square feet! A few years ago they bought two old Seagate buildings and built an annex between them.

My tour was done by their head of Marketing, who joined them some 25 year’s ago. It was about an hour and he walked me through the entire facility. Tons of different expensive printers, and I got to talk to a couple of their employees. They’ll break in certain printers for up to three months before putting them into production. Around the holidays they’ll have approx. 450 employees working there.

When the tour was over he gave me a goodie bag filled with different sample papers that they use. A truly class act company that is very customer oriented. I use them for all my printing needs except for people prints. For people prints I use MPIX, as I think their skin tones are better.

Well I have been a loyal customer of Bay Photo for years..however.. I ordered 12 prints recently (16X20)and was very disappointed with them. I got them and framed them just as I always have for years. After a day or so the started to "Slump" or what I called puckering up. I contacted them, sent them images of the issue and after a few back and forth emails I was told because they didn't frame them they would not replace them, basically telling me oh well...

Sounds to me that they just weren’t put in the frame properly? I’ve done that as well. Don’t see how you can blame Bay Photo for that?

Seriously? After 10 years of doing the same thing, using the same frames suddenly I don't know how to put a photo in a frame? And the 100 plus images before this batch are fine so something changed on their end this time. That's exactly why I CAN blame Bay Photo...

I think the question is more along the lines of how they were put in the frame, not that you don't know how. Clearly, the quality of the prints was good enough that you wanted to frame them. If, somehow, the paper they used, or the ink caused something to "slump," that might be a quality issue, but, based on what you've described, I don't see how you can blame Bay Photo for what you've experienced. Maybe there are more details that we don't understand.
